Day Fifteen Hundred and Forty-Eight

The Day Pete Came to Save the Day

Ehem...
Uh, Whitacre?
What exactly are you doing?

Of course!
It's Dad's first day throwing and you didn't want to miss out!
Smart Bear.
And even smarter Dada.
Adam brought his personal college and high school coach to Florida to work out some kinks in his wind up and delivery. So far, I can immediately say that already in just one day, Adam is throwing the ball harder and with less effort than I've ever seen. I've been his catch partner for a couple years by now, and yesterday, I was too scared to be anywhere near that ball. I don't know how Pete does it, but we're SURE encouraged and excited that he's come to help!

Amelia was just as excited.
She just couldn't get enough of Dad's fastball...

...dirt!
Forget baseball.
Who needs it when you have all this delicious dirt to shove your face with!?
Mmmmm! Crunchy!!!
On second thought.
Mom, I need some milk to wash this down with.

Uck!
Maybe I do prefer baseball after all.

Pete got in around noon yesterday afternoon and the boys picked up right where they left off the last time I saw them together. We're so grateful for his wisdom, insight, knowledge, and love for the game. But more than that, we're thankful for his heart and willingness to come serve the Conley family for a few days during his busiest time of year. This guy's a coaching stud and we couldn't be happier to host him! We love you, Pete!
