Day 2,239

The Conley Tornadoes

Try to keep your house clean with two toddlers. Go ahead. Try. Try harder. Not working? Well, that's because you can't. It's impossible. And that's a fact.

But though the inside of our house contuines to resemble a hurricane, Dada and Bearett are hard at work to ensure the garage's cleanliness and organization. So at least we have that going for us.

They're always busy. And they're always creating new messes that require clean up, but their growing minds and hearts are worth the disasters they leave in their wake.

I can only imagine what adding her to the mix will look like one day. Have mercy.

Day 2,209

The Force is Strong

Yesterday was exciting. It was the last game we'd attend in 2017.

It was the last day at our pool (where Bearett learned to dive!).

And it was Star Wars night at the park.

But not just ANY Star Wars night...

No, it was a special Star Wars night complete with homemade Storm Trooper shirts...

And Storm Trooper Daddy bobbleheads!!!

And our special night surely wouldn't be complete without an firework show that left two babes in awe and one in tears!

What a sweet way to bring an end to such a full, exhausting, hugely impactful season.

The Force is sure strong in this family.

Day 2,179

The Pooper Scooper

Favorite part of my day right here. Give me all the Daddy and kiddie snuggles! Ah! Love them.

They wake up (looking so) perfect.

Dad's home and that means all sorts of better things. One of them: he builds extra awesome marble runs. Way cooler than the lame ones Mom built.

Turns out, I build lame tents too. My saving grace: their expectations. Anything Mama does is still the best thing ever.

Except when she yells. Then she's not the best thing ever. Couldn't help myself this time though. It went something like this:

*Mom realizes it's too quiet in the house*

"Hey, what are you guys doing?" called from the living room.

"We're pooping together, Mom!"

"Wait. What?! Pooping together? How? Like, on the same seat?"

*Mom realizing what's happening*

"Oh no! That's not a toilet!"

*Mom sprinting into the bathroom.*

"NO AMELIA!!! STOP POOPING!! NO!! THAT'S NOT A TOILET! THAT'S A BIDET! YOU KNOW THAT!! C'MON GIRL!!"

*One giant turd stuck to the bowl of the bidet*

Guess who had to scoop it out? You guessed it. This girl. While wearing Ella Mae. And when I went to wipe Amelia's butt - after getting Bearett off the toilet and transferring her from the bidet - Ella Mae's binky fell right out of her mouth and onto the poop. Just...poop. Goodbye precious, brand new, scarcely available binky. For Pete's sake!

Day 2,126

The Daddy Preparers

Sleepy toddler + chores before Dad comes = this.

The transfer was unfortunately a total fail. But she did end up getting lots of sleep in preparation for Dad's homecoming - it only took me an extra hour to get this child back to sleep.

But when they woke, we made sure everything was perfect and even baked Dada a special surprise.

We were SO excited to give it to him!! Daddy's almost here!!

Day Two Thousand and Ninety-Two

The Hidden Infant

Post-traveling, hotel-living laundry day. Has anyone seen the baby?

Found her! Now Sis, if you do the dishes, I'll cook supper? Deal?! Deal.

Day Two Thousand and Eighty-Six

The Rain That Didn't Go Away

It didn't go away until game time, that is...but Dad's start was already canceled by 4pm anyways. Total bummer. We'd spent the day looking forward to his outing and instead, we got more time with each other. I guess if he has to miss his start, then at least we're here to hang out! And that's just exactly what we did! Can't complain about that.

It's been hard finding things to do with the babes here, but the one solid place we can count on where Amelia can run and play is located right across the parking lot. And it doesn't hurt that they serve ice cream too! Her first cone! "It's mine! Yummy!" she says.

And then, we get home and, "I wanna do da dishes!" is the next thing she says! Have at it, my little pig tail princess! Have at it. Matter of fact, you can have this chore until you graduate since you love it so much!

There was a scheduled off day today so Adam pitches on Thursday in Round Rock now.

Day Two Thousand and Eighteen

The Cutest Little Helper

Hi, my name's Amelia and I like warm hugs. And hats. Mostly only Marlins hats. I like picking out my own bathing suit for swim class as well. And taking apart remotes.
I also happen to be - literally - the cutest little girl my parents have ever seen.

I like to help Mommy with chores. She makes huge piles of messy clothes turn into neat stacks like this. Most of the time I drop some (most?) of the stack before I can make it to my drawers. She doesn't get mad though. I'm only little, after all.

Adam pitches tomorrow night at 7:05 at Roger Dean. He's scheduled to pitch four innings, beginning in the fifth.

Day Eighteen hundred and Fifty-Seven

The Mulch we were Supposed to Purchase a Year Ago

My dad always asked me when I was a kid, "Are ya workin' hard or hardly workin?"

Workin' hard, Grandpa. Workin' REAL hard. Not only did I manage to score 60 bags of mulch for the price of 30 bags, but I also walked away with TWO free wooden pallets AND a large man who unloaded the entire truck for me while I stared in wonder at all the possibilities ahead of me for those pallets. Workin' hard alright - using my big huge brain in place of my tiny little muscles. Whoever said hard work was all physical anyways?!

Day Sixteen Hundred and Thirty-Seven

The Sunshine State of Mind

My little Florida girl.
All ready for an afternoon with Dad at the pool.

We were car-less yet again yesterday, so we made the best of it in the sunshine. Well, in the sunshine, under Amelia's covered blow-up pool, that is. She's still yet to wear sunscreen, so we try our best to make sure she's somewhat covered if she has a lot of sun exposure!

Though we were car-less, Dad got home around noon (yay for away games that he doesn't have to go to!) and we played with our feet in the water while he scrubbed the pool (a super dad, that's for sure - always comes home, even after his long days at work and serves our family). This week, our plan is to convert our little chlorine oasis into a saltwater pool, which makes us SO excited to start swimming in it maybe in a month or so...when it warms up!

After a little more labor in the backyard - we cleaned up from Amelia's party AND trimmed our trees - we cooled off and relaxed with carrot sticks and Vikings.

And then, we did dishes.
I have the greatest helpers around.

Day One Thousand One Hundred and Sixty-Three

The Day That Wouldn't Quit Picking on Us

We all agree.
Yesterday was just...

...poopy.

(I didn't take a photo of the milk bomb that exploded all over the kitchen that Adam dropped either, or the $50 shipping fee it cost us to send a $68 package to California.)

The only highlight: we started our third trimester yesterday! 14 weeks left till we meet Baby Girl!

Day Eight Hundred and Sixty-Four

The Grinch Stole Christmas

He tore it down, boxed it up, put it away, and left a messy pine-needle trail all the way down the hall…toward the room with the big ugly dumpster, where our tree now rests (not in peace). Yesterday was a sad day for Christmas.

Day Eight Hundred and Sixty

The(re's) Deer in our Bellies

Behold: the aftermath of my first venison dinner ever.
Thank you Tyler and Kelsey for providing the deer! Mmmmm mmmm!

(And yes, it's still Christmas time in the Conley Casa)

Day Seven Hundred and Six

The Goodbye Packer

As the wife of this Conley household, I'm in charge of the laundry. Me. Only me. I wash it, dry it, fold it, hang it...AND pack it. Because I can't trust Adam with his own suitcase. If it were up to him, his 10-day road trip bag would contain half the amount of clothes I packed...and I only packed the bare essentials: A few shorts, some sweats and trunks, workout stuff, socks, shoes, and of upmost importance: 10 undies and 10 polos. Because he'll be gone for TEN days. And you just can't pack less than that! Sure, I won't see him for ten days, but that doesn't give him any right or freedom to be stinky or gross. No sir!

I finished packing and headed to the field, where Aunt Kim was waiting for me. It was her last day in Jax, and though we're sad to see her go, we're so happy for the amount of time we got to spend with her. She's the sweetest, most thoughtful woman and we're so thankful for her precious heart! We love you Aunt Kim! See you soon!! Promise :)

My girls left. Kim left. Then Adam left. And then I was all alone. Naturally, my face arranged itself this way. Sad girl in a big city. Pooooooor Ken. Hahaha ;) Just kidding, I'll be (kinda) fine!

Day Five Hundred and Fifteen

The Sixteen Foot Pile-Up

I confess. Adam and I have a problem. It's severe. And I'm hoping we're not the only household in America suffering from it. The diagnosis: chronic closet amnesia. Clearly, we've forgotten where our closet is. And the results speaks for themselves. But normally - I swear...honestly - it's never this bad! Like, seriously? That's eight pairs of shoes. Right inside our front door. How we managed to overlook this pathetic pile-up is beyond me. But when we finally noticed it, Adam and I couldn't stop laughing. We were in temporary shock. There's only two of us living here -TWO-, but by the looks of it, I'd guess we were hosting a small Under Armor party. Unfortunately for us, that wasn't the case. Instead, just a wee little family with terribly embarrassing problem. One that I'm unsure will ever be corrected. Sigh. At least they add some color to the room...right?!
