Day 4,489

The Head Trauma Drama

It looked worse than it was, THANK GOODNESS!

Wasn’t even enough to keep her out of the water! She’s a trooper, alright!

I took the kids back to my Paleo days, when almond butter and Enjoy Life chocolate chips ruled my dessert life. They approved!

Day 4,488

The Kindergarten Finish Line and The Bloody Head

SHE DID IT!!!!
She's reached Lesson 100--the last lesson in her reading book! And that means: IT'S TIME FOR GRADUATION!!!
WAY TO GO ELLA MAE!! She has done such a wonderful job in her quest to learn how to read and we're so proud of her!

The rest of the day, we just had all the fun.

That is, until it turned bloody.
I was afraid we were dealing with something more significant when the pillow hit the wooden spatula hit Millie's head, but it ended up only being a little cut. Thank goodness, because if the amount of blood were any indication of the injury, we'd have been in the ER! Goodness.

Blood subsided and pillow fight ended, we headed to Petco for some dog chow animal perusing. Duh.

:)

And since my afternoon was scrapped due to Amelia's bloody head, when we got home, the chores had piled up. Thankfully, I married a man who isn't afraid of the kitchen sink. Thank you, my sweetest, most helpful and manly MAN!! I love you!

Night!

Day 4,204

The Stinky, Slippery Floor

ANOTHER chin sliced.

She's fine though--no stitches necessary. Just an ex-ER nurse to the rescue!

All better :)

"Wherever could that little Lou be?"

Oh! There she is!

Looking all big girl and grown. Ah, my heart!

We had a Saturday FILLED with babes and fun and water and slip 'n slides

and popsicles and conversation and sun tans

and mud and dirt and sweat and Florida stink

and literally, a broken arm.
The first one ever in all my days as a mommy.
We love you, Landon! Get better soon, buddy.

Day 4,089

The New First Watch Friends

The Sunday-morning-after-church-First-Watch crew! This time, with our baseball friends! Remember when we went to Atlanta for that wedding? This is Mrs. McKay, the bride! Her and Mr. Nick are currently in Jupiter for rehab and so, they get to visit us often right now and though its maybe not what they had in mind for the beginning of season, we sure do enjoy their company!

:)

And then, just some regular evening fun in the backyard before church again.

And a middle of the night sinkie to top off another sweet Sunday.

Day 4,088

The Cozy and the Tasty and the Itchy

Homeschool wherever you want! Sometimes, the coziest places are the best places to learn.

And afterward, treats!

Tweetie ice cream at Bubba's baseball game is everything!

Hives in the middle of the night--not so much.
We're not quite sure what's going on with Molly. She's woken up to these itchy bumps multiple nights in a row now nearly inconsolable. She calms down after Benadryl, but we're hoping that whatever reaction she's having will pass soon!

Day 3,620

The Kind Help of a Friend

Took my babe to the doctor on Sunday. She had a rash a fever and was generally just not feeling “normal.” So we went mostly for peace of mind. Turns out, she’s just got basically a diaper rash (we’re still in pull-ups at night, mixed with all the swimming and gymnasticsing and sweaty NC weather—the perfect storm) and the fever was of no relation to the rash at all.  She’s not got any other sickness either, so we’re thankful for that, though I do believe she’s a bit run down.

Spending two hours at urgent care is no small task, so even though sugar is exactly the opposite of what their bodies need, their emotions said otherwise. So we got a little cup of ice cream goodness and my goodness, did they perk up!

While I did the doctor thing with the littles, our new friends graciously took our oldest two to the game we were *all* supposed to attend together. And though we were bummed we couldn’t all go, what a blessing that was that they still could!

The kids took their friends ALL over the stadium, showing every nook and cranny this place boasts. To their delight, Sunday was apparently Disney Princess day at the field too!

They even got the full experience by seeing Daddy pitch!

They introduced our new friends to all our favorite people, including Officer Jones,

and Wool E. Bull!!

What a night! Thank you for the pictures and for sacrificially loving our little family as you already do, friends! The Lord is just so kind.

We guessed it!! And we’re SO happy!

Day 3,247

The Things I’ve Got

I’ve got girls pretending to be Bubba.

Read: I have triple the amount of laundry seeing as they rifled through all Bub’s drawers and unfolded all his clothes.

I’ve got girls eating fist fulls of “dippy.”

Read: at least she’s not crying.

I’ve got girls trying hard to feed puppy.

Read: I have to remember to clean up that mess too, once I get around to it.

I’ve got boys trying to figure out how to squirm out of cleaning.

Read: you’re caught red handed, mister.

I’ve got boys playing catch with mattresses.

Read: must stay in some sort of shape somehow!

I’ve got puppies sleeping in baskets.

Read: SHE DOESN’T SHED! Hallelujah!

I’ve got kids begging for Daddy.

Read: they ain’t gonna last much longer.

I’ve got a man who leads faithfully even while quarantined in a hotel room for an entire week without once complaining.

Read: I am so thankful for it and through it all.
