Day Fourteen Hundred and Ninety-Eight

The Baby Mimi Meets her Mimi

The first time they laid eyes on each other, my heart melted into a puddle of pure, sappy joy.

Mimi - as she was officially named by Baby Mimi yesterday - had been long awaiting this very hug. And what a sweet embrace. Adam's grandma was originally named by Auntie Kim and I as "GG," for great grandma, but the second she heard the name, she commented, "That's my name? I sound like a go-go dancer!" And so, we immediately bid farewell to GG and settled on Mimi - the perfect name for Great Grandma. Mostly because it matches the nickname Bearett gave to Amelia when he very first met her! So now, we have Little Mimi and Big Mimi!

And boy does Amelia love her!

She gave Big Mimi lots of loves and cuddles and giggles and laughs. And of course, because she LOVES baby feet, Amelia let her kiss those chubby long toes for as long as Mimi wanted to!

WE LOVE YOU MIMI!!!
Thank you for bringing tears to my eyes and joy to my heart yesterday. It was such an incredible treasure seeing you with our precious daughter. She loves you and as I type this from the cab of the truck on our way home to Palm City, Amelia is asleep in her car seat, cuddled up next to Moosey. We already miss your snappy humor and Kentucky accent, your cozy hugs and Mountain Dew blood. Can't wait to see you again soon!!! XOXO!

Day Fourteen Hundred and Ninety-Four

The Second Day of More Surprises!

While Daddy was finding everything in the woods besides deer...

Amelia and I were finding - for the second morning in a row - surprise after surprise.

We walked downstairs to the entire length of Auntie's couch...

...covered in new clothes!

Seriously, the whole thing!

If this isn't the definition of a spoiled niece, I don't know what is!

Actually, I take that back.
This is the definition of a spoiled niece.
Yet another surprise...this time for Mama.
Say hello to my newest, most favorite, and exciting crafting tool EVER!
It's a Silhouette HD...it cuts stuff. Stuff that makes really cute and even awesomer stuff. Like...Amelia's Zephyrs onesies. And her Marlins onesies. And banners and stickers and boxes and cupcake toppers...and basically anything you could cut with scissors...this thing cuts it perfectly.

KIM! I don't know how I ever managed to be on the receiving end of such kindness and thoughtfulness. But I'm truly grateful and hope you realize just how much your sweet gestures mean to us. Crazy wow! Thank you!!!

We ran a few more crafting errands yesterday before meeting this handsome hunks at home. Millie was so excited to see her Dada and Pa and leapt right in Dad's arms for a photo in Pa's hat. The boys are having a rough go at it in the woods here in Kentucky. The deer are either really good at hiding, not present...or...Dad and Pa, well...that's not nice to say ;)

Hopefully we'll be leaving Lexington with a buck or doe in the bed of our truck. If not, I'm in for an angry husband and an empty freezer. Both: not good.

In other news, Amelia face-smashed into her walker yesterday.
It was sad. She hasn't figured out that she needs to move her feet too, when the walker moves. In time (and bruises?) I guess.

And Hunter, when asked what he wants for his birthday, excitedly exclaimed, "I want a wheel chair like Papa!" Ha! The brain of an almost-five-year-old!

Day Fourteen Hundred and Ninety-Three

The Day S(Aunt)a Came in October

She slept real good yesterday.
Face-sweat-puddle good.
Our Millie is a heavy, hot sleeper, just like her Mama.

With bedhead and wethead decorating her adorable face, we woke up happy and excited to get our day started. We walked out of our bedroom at Auntie Kim's house, and our jaws dropped in surprise; S(Aunt)a Kim had delivered yet again.

Hanging on every doorknob in the entire house was a new outfit for her MillieGirl!!!

CHRISTMAS IN OCTOBER!!!

Oh my gooooooodness!
What a jolly-happy, completely unexpected surprise!
Amelia is quite the lucky gal.
And S(Aunt)a Kim is quite the sweet lady.
THANK YOU AUNTIE!

Once the shock value of the morning's events settled (slightly), we got ready and headed out.

Amelia's Halloween costume was on the list.

And we knew just the place to begin our base-layer search.

Buy Buy Baby!
The same store that Amelia visited with Auntie Kim almost a year ago while she was still cozied up in my belly.

Found it!

Now, the fun begins.
Crafting, commence!
What will she be? Stay tuned for Auntie magic!

Day Fourteen Hundred and Ninety-Two

The First Time They Met

Bye bye Georgia!!

We took the back roads on our way to Kentucky yesterday.
The really really real back roads.
Complete with ancient gas stations, Confederate flags, and...

...donkeys for sale.
Yes, that's right.
Donkeys for sale.
I guess, someone has to sell them?

The winding roads were good to us.
Amelia slept for a reasonable portion of it, and though I had to ride next to her for much of it (the girl likes my hand on her face when she sleeps in the truck...whatever works, right?), the easy conversation with Adam was a very welcomed one.

We arrived in Lexington, Kentucky at 8PM to the biggest, most excited and cheerful smile greeting us at the front door. Auntie Kim had been waiting all day for us - and actually, she'd been waiting since February! Well, technically even before that! Last time we saw Auntie, Amelia was still in my tummy and her and I were busy crafting things for Little Lady to use and wear once born. Ever since, she's been watching Amelia from the blog, waiting patiently and desperately to meet her first great niece for the very first time. Last night, an instant bond was created and my heart filled just a little bit more. We are so blessed by Kim and all she's done and been for our Littlest Love. The love she has for Amelia is obvious and grand and I'm so thankful that Millie has such a tremendous woman to look up to. We love you Auntie!!
And Millie says, "Thanks for all my new toys! When I learn to walk, I'll give all the credit to you!"
