Day 4,352

The Nearly Frozen Dreamy Driveway

Aaaaand, we're frozen. Nearly.

Not accustomed to this blizzard weather, we erected a massive igloo fort,

and enjoyed nap time in our cozy new dwelling.
There's nothing quite like a dreamy fort on a chilly day.

And there's also nothing quite like the official establishment of your new Farm driveway.
We're over the moon excited about that 12 foot opening!!!

Day 4,286

The After Pics

Just a little bit of Ficus Tree flooding at the property.

Otherwise, it was an inside-the-house kind of day.

Except for them.

Day 4,285

The Next Storm

Another hurricane was looming, so we hunkered down and waited for the storm to pass, with cozy bedrooms coming along beautifully!

The eye of this Category 1 made landfall right on top of us. Thankfully, we only had minimal damage and some light flooding once again.

Day 4,254

The Room Get Enclosed!

One Cottage window, coming right up!

And, what was left here of Hurricane Ian.

Day 4,245

The Lord God of armies, who is like You, mighty [f]Lord?
Your faithfulness also surrounds You.
You rule the surging of the sea;
When its waves rise, You calm them.
Psalm 89:8-9

We woke up early to read and then assess our own damages from Hurricane Ian.

Suffering only a few downed branches and a flipped over shed, we really were thankful for extremely minimal damage, while so much of our state was affected in ways I can't even fathom.

Daddy checked our neighbors backyard, finding no damage while they were away.

And for the most part, our day continued as usual.

Including boys doing lots of jumping jacks for laziness.
We are thankful to the Lord for His mercies here in Stuart, and though our beautiful state was marred greatly, we still trust our sovereign God who uses all things for His own glory, even when we can't see it in the moments.

Day 4,244

The Storms of Life

Impacted severely by the category 4 Hurricane Ian, the West coast of our beautiful state bore devastating loss. The images online we witnessed were heartbreaking and made us especially grateful for the day we were given on the other side.

While not under a hurricane warning, our little town certainly felt the effects of the massive storm 4 hours away. We cozied up and waited for the worst to pass that evening and night.

Day 4,242

The Storm Approaches

Art messes.

*Extremely* high kicks.

Peacock feedings.

Ian's coming.

And Daddy installing a new vent.

Day 3,989

The First Time Heater Saw the Atlantic

Beach Day!

With our Taylor, our friend, and…

…our puppy!!
Heater’s first time ever!

With the weather being only 68 degrees, we had zero anticipation of getting wet at all. Just about two minutes in, however, three of my four kids were soaking wet, Bearett’s shirt was off, and we had just realized our complete, utter, foolish mistake.

Beach 101: if there’s sunshine, bring a suit. They’re gonna get wet.

And sandy! ;)

Really sandy.

Really, really sandy.

Really, REALLY sandy!
Nice work, Daddy! Count ‘em! That’s four buried Conleys. The perfect babysitter. Why didn’t we think of this before??

:)
