Day 4,452

The Lizard Librarians

A special friend for our special library! Homeschool living at its finest!

We visit our library at least twice a month and every time we come home with new books, I can hardly pry them off the couch!

Day 4,367

The Florida/Washington Pit

Our idea of a sandbox in place of a pool is taking on a rather "Pacific Northwest" vibe and we're pretty excited about it. If a pool doesn't work, then a woodsy, Montessori-style playscape is the idea we love!

After all the work over the last couple days, a night of cozying up on the couch was just what we needed.

Amelia's current read: "Who Was Amelia Earhart?"

Day 4,365

The Sandbox Is Halfway Done!

Day 4,351

The Weekend Fun

Nothing like a Saturday morning used bookstore sale!

And some Playmobile play

And some stick whittling

And some puppy loving

And some sister cuddling to wrap up the rest of our day.

Day 4,340

The Twin Tuesday

New year, new school calendar!
They put on some dresses, did their hair up in matching ballet buns, and tricked half of Walmart into believing that these two were not only sisters, but twins too!

Then it was back to school for reading time! She’s halfway through her curriculum and doing so well! I certainly had my doubts about starting a three year old so early, but she’s persistent and wants to learn just like her siblings!

And to wrap up another full day, the children spent their Tuesday night at Beginning Orchestra practice, where they have the opportunity to learn the basics of reading music and performing their instruments alongside other musicians.

Day 4,312

The Handy Fair

Wake up: make your bed!

Give Fellar a hug.

Oh, give Heater a hug too!

And drive to the Handy Fair!!!

Our chiclets were one of about 25 booths--all members of the Living Learning Library and only crafts/food made by children were to be sold. It was such a neat opportunity to teach the children in ways we don't necessarily often get to, with hands-on learning occurring constantly.

They all walked away happy with their hard work, happy with how their items sold, with a better understanding of how to market and sell a product, how to count back change, how to set prices, and how to have self-control to save their money and not spend it all at once at everyone else's booths!
Good job, Conley Kids!

AND NOW WE'RE SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF OUR LUNGS BECAUSE OUR PEOPLE ARE BACK!!
Molly and Ella Mae's best friends came back from three months away in Arizona. Their reunion was the sweetest thing ever.
