Day 4,162

The Mud Pies

The best part of waking up :)

The second best part...

Mrs. Jean's waffle recipe: CHECK!!
These were fluffy and scrumptious, just as promised--thank you Mrs. Jean!!

With full bellies, we filled up our hearts. Having friends over is one of our most cherished activities! Especially when our friends want to build legos while listening to books on Audible!

They left and it ended up getting a little messy...

only a little muddy, right mom?

Between the friends and the mud and the swingset reading,

and the climbing too,

this Mama was all tuckered out. Supper and a movie, anyone? You too, Heater? Or are you just begging for food. I know your tricks, Heater Rae!!!

Day 4,116

The Snuggly Sunday

We brought the cutest little friend to church!

And Mommy found some selfies on her phone once it was all said and done! Hi pretty ladies!

Between services, the girls napped and Bub built.

Then it was back to church for the evening service, where I was very happily surprised with a stem-less bouquet of dandelion "flowers" from the princess flower picker herself. Goodness, she's as sweet as they come when she wants to be!!

And then, Zoomerang Vacation Bible School song sing off pre-bedtime, of course.

Day 3,395

The

Fact: my grout is NOT dark gray. It’s light beige. And that means, the gray is straight up dirt. Dirt that comes out with Magic Erasers.

So, after Daddy left to Mississippi, Uncle Richard (and Auntie Ellie) went to grout-work. And oh my word, does my house look like it’s ten years younger! Thank you SO much for all your help!

We also made necklaces and key chains.

Family colored.

LEGO’d.

And Star Wars’d!

Day 3,343

The Best Part of Waking Up...

A little pumpkin CHEESECAKE FILLED French toast with some visiting friends to start off our Thursday. Don’t even for a second try to judge me. This was the best “breakfast” I’ve ever tasted in my life and I don’t even care how many calories it took to down the whole plate. Good food, good company, and (mostly) good kids. A sure turn of events from the day before ;)

We really did enjoy yesterday more than the day before. I had a lot of time to reflect and kill sin in my heart and I’m thankful it was exposed in greater form.

These babes are just so precious to me and even though some of the days are long and hard, I absolutely have choices to make during them which will either make them easier and more joyful or even harder and far less enjoyable. I must own the fact that I have the ability to make faithful, God-honoring decisions in the midst of seemingly disorganized chaos and do it both consistently and well. Be praying for me.

Let’s see...
We have here a LEGO pod racer, created by the seven year old mastermind of the house.

Pretty good at LEGOS, I’d say. And getting much better at coordination too! Bearett loves his ninja class and we’re thankful because honest to goodness, the boy needs some flexibility, balance, and body awareness, all of which he lacks in great quantities (ha!) but is growing in through this class!

Amelia on the other hand, is advanced in most of the areas Bub lacks, but she’s much more timid and a lot more dainty. She’s toughening up in gymnastics and is really starting to put it all together.

However, we’ve still got a ways to go (ha!), as she’s still only 5 and remembering 4 new routines correctly is hard work!

The best part of my day.
I crazy love these people. Goodness gracious, they’re the best.

Day 3,340

The Standard Monday

Fashionista LEGO builders.
I can get behind that.

We had a pretty average day in the Conley house yesterday.
Bearett looking handsome while taking absolutely forever to eat.

Mom and babes dancin.

And big Sis with some awfully generous helping hands.
Cuz let’s be real: they’re getting to an age where they can actually help. And goodness knows, Daddy and I could really use a little bit of it.

Day 3,294

The Thursday Babes

One of my favorite things about our mornings occurs when the kiddies wake up to me reading my Bible and one by one, they follow the lead set before them without any prompting. It is such a blessing to witness their awe of God’s Word and I only pray that their zeal for the Word me becomes the greatest desire of their heart as they mature.

Whenever we have good mornings, the days usually follow suit. Molly is exceptionally whiny these days and particularly needy, however, once she’s found something she likes, she’ll do it for a solid four minutes—hey, it’s better than zero.

Thursdays  are a bit busy around here after naps. But during naps and following the completion of his school work, the boys like to play Legos together. And this time, Mama even got in on it.

Bitsy too. Only she mostly just likes to chew on Legos.

Good thing Daddy loves you like crazy, Bitsy the Cow.

And to cap off the night, Dad’s Bible study with six other baseball men—one of Adam’s most cherished times of the week. The Lord is constantly giving us such sweet glimpses of His kindness and grace in our lives. Grateful.

Day 3,258

The Covid Chronicles: A Typical Day

Legos.

Pool.

Puppy.

School.

That’s what these days are made of.

Well, that, and plenty of pouty baby faces too.

Day 3,251

The COVID Chronicles: Daddy Goes Out Front

So, adding more bizarre things to 2020: Bitsy the Cow prefers laying on piles of LEGOs. Why not, right?

Why not is right.

In other news—still maintaining a similar degree of bizarre—our kids can’t go to gymnastics because of their COVID positive Daddy. So, we sorta try to do it ourselves around here. The pool is their perimeter, and their mom is their coach, yelling and clapping “High knees! Frog jumps! Bunny hops! Soldier walks!” Mom for a coach ain’t so bad, right guys?!

How long will this continue, you might ask?
Well, Adam still has zero symptoms.
And yet, his every-other-day testing continues to return positive. To be cleared to play, he must consecutively test negative twice, with 24 hours in between. So, we keep doing push-ups. At home. And we do them so much, Molly’s even getting good at them and she’s not even in a gymnastics class!

It’s been officially ten days since Adam contracted the virus, so yesterday—after scouring the CDC website for “proper” quarantine guidelines, we finally decided that he’s allowed out FRONT of the house instead of confined to only the backyard (of course, no spectators, passerby-ers, bikers, or any other kind of “ers” were given 6 foot access to him over the duration of this practice). Feels as if we have to treat him like he’s a Walking Dead zombie or something, gracious. ANYWAYS, since we can’t go anywhere, we purchased another net for him to throw bullpens into. It’s wonky and unprofessional, but considering all things, I’d say we’ve still got it pretty good around here. Hey, at this rate, anything is better than being cooped up in a hotel room!

He’s doing what he can with what he has in order to remain a faithful employee of the Marlins and will continue his work, however long it takes. For now, we’re definitely counting this as a blessing to our family, as yet again, the Lord has chosen to give us more unexpected time with Daddy and that, my friends, is ALWAYS something to be thankful for.

Day 3,212

The Conley Quarantine: Day 87

I’ve never seen a cuter bunch of babes! Ah! You make me all googley eyed!!

Yesterday was a busy day of cleaning and (some) packing. But between all the hustle and commotion, there were a few  moments of pure sweetness that I just couldn’t overlook. Bub finished his birthday Ninja LEGO set and it was all he cared to do but play with his personally-constructed creations while showing his daddy all the toys were capable of. I love them so much together.

Makes me smile BIG like Molly!
And hey! Would ya check it out—that’s Molly’s very first pony! Yet just one more reason for my perpetual grin.
