The 2023 Summer Handy Fair

Happy Handy Fair Day!

This year, the Conley Cottage Cafe was quite the hit with its new menu. The most adorable foursome sold their homemade “Snacklaces,” their beautiful Twirling Ribbons, and a fan favorite: the Ice Italian Sodas!

They had a great day of sales, a great day of learning, a great day of shopping, and an especially tasty afternoon of sweet treats, while surrounded by their homeschool friends at our Living Learning Library. We are so thankful for this special opportunity to learn in such a wholesome and fun environment!

Immediately upon returning home, they kids put all their Handy Fair items away and went outside to hang up the picnic table squirrel feeder that we bought for SEVEN DOLLARS(!) at the fair! Oh, what fun!!



And to top off an already-special day, we went swimming with some friends from Taekwondo. These summer days, we’re taking it allllll in!

The Happy Hearts and Sleepy, Steamy Eyes

Lunch date with Claire at our favorite play spot!!

What a sweet day of play, encouragement, example, and kindness. We love you!!

(They've never played more than a few minutes in a hot tub before...now they know the effects of the prolonged heat and goodness, was my home quiet when we got back!



Though I was surprised the hot water didn't play it's magical tricks on him, he was quiet and quite distracted by his new Christmas toy and his current library book of choice. He insisted on this Handbook of Nature Study and hasn't let it out of his sight since checking it out!

a six-child Costco shopping,

Oh, we just can't get enough of these special girl cousins!

The Grocery Relief

Tuesday starts just as any other day: Bible study! 

This time: Esther...one of the kids' favorite stories.

Then we headed off to our Tuesday Living Learning Library summer story time.

And Costco afterwards.

I LOVE COSTCO NOW.

I never was able to shop at Costco during baseball because of how sudden the season can change. It would likely have happened to us that the second we went to Costco to bulk up on some necessities, we'd get traded or promoted or demoted, and have to leave the majority of it behind, so I never did make a habit out of it. But now: you better believe it!

And every time, our afternoon follows with Tuesday box creations without fail :)
