Day 3,105

The Perfect Float

Headlining a day full of news yesterday was this.
Molly’s second to last day of ISR lessons meant she had to fall into the pool with her summer clothes on. And WOW! She did such an amazing job!!! Our tiniest Conley is nearly officially graduated from her four week swim course, which means this Mama can breathe just a little bit easier.

YAAAAAAY MOLLY!!!
We’re all SO thankful she’s got such an important and life saving skill now! Especially with this many kids running all around my life every day, I am so grateful for this incredible resource.
____________

In other news:
The Coronavirus.
Since yesterday, among many other closures, the virus has halted Bearett’s baseball season and also Daddy’s. Bearett’s is suspended through April. And as for Daddy...Adam was called back to the clubhouse yesterday after the conclusion of their game to learn that Spring Training had, in fact, been cancelled. No more Spring Training games. There’s been a tentative two-week suspension of the season, with games resuming April 9th at the earliest. The Marlins clubhouse is closed all Friday, all Saturday, and the players will again converge Sunday afternoon, when more information will be given. And now, you know literally just as much as we know. We’re not panicking. We’re not worried. We’re not mass-buying toilet paper. We’re trusting the Lord, wherever and however this is brought before us, as we know He is the Creator and sustainer of life itself. And nothing is out of His sovereign plan. Take care, friends! Be faithful, Christians. Enjoy your homes. Enjoy your family. Rest. Read. Prepare. And wash your hands. Often. Don’t forget: we’re all experiencing this for the first time and we’re all in this together. Have grace and be kind.

I’ll post more information as I get it.
Night!

Day 3,103

The More Fun, the More Fun

Hi Daddy!

Love you, Papa Bear!
He pitched one inning and struck out two. Yay!
(Yes, she absolutely INSISTED wearing her princess dress to the game. As did Amelia wear mismatched shoes. And then Bearett got a sliver in his foot - no shoes. And undocumented Molly’s shoes were accidentally left at home. Mom fail? Depends on your definition of fail, I guess.)

BUT WE DON’T CARE CUZ WE HAD FUN!

And we kept having fun.

Because fun is more fun than not having fun.
And we had lots of it.
Especially on the last night of Grandma and Papa before they go back to their home in Washington.

Day 3,077

The Non-Stop Go

It was one of those days that went from one thing to the next to the next without stopping. Morning laundry (with my newest and most eager helper), followed by breakfast, then school...

...and during the middle of school, Kate sometimes gets to watch a show or do a puzzle...yesterday she chose a show and decided it was so good she’d rather pee all over my couch than miss any show to go to the toilet. And so, during school, Mama was cleaning pee also and showering a tiny human. Then it was off to Mrs. Gina’s for Molly’s daily ISR swim lessons at noon, which is 20 minutes away from the house.

And then, rush home, make lunch, kids nap, Mom puts baby to sleep, Mom does more chores, wakes the girls up at 3:30 for gymnastics at 4. Drive to gym. Drive back home.

Meet the boys at the park on the way home to finally see Daddy and watch Bub hit some balls. Go home, pick up Molly - who’s been with Grandma - take everyone back to gymnastics to pick up the big sisters. Then home, heat up leftovers. Daddy leaves for a team building supper.

Brush teeth, go pee, pajamas, read 2 Samuel 16. Pray. Tuck kids in bed. Read Romans 1-3 while soothing Ella Mae to sleep.
And finally, I sat. To do more laundry.

That’s about how the next 6 week looks for us here in the Conley Casa. So if I look haggard or my house is nasty or I seriously can’t find my phone anywhere...just...just be nice to me, ok?!
Haha ;)

Day 3,076

The Day Filled with Smiles and Expectation

2020 season has arrived and at breakfast, Bearett prayed, “Daddy is gone, but thank you, Lord that we get to go to Daddy’s baseball games again!”
He’s spot on.
Dad’s glove is too!
Here we go...AGAIN!
Season #9 - we’re thankful and so ready to put hours upon hours of laborious work to the test and incredibly expectant of a (MUCH) better results on the mound. Praying that regardless, we’re faithful testimonies of Christ’s sacrificial love and sovereignty to a watching clubhouse and world.

On the same day...”luck” would have it that Amelia “got” her back hip circle ALL BY HERSELF! She is SO excited and proud of her hard work too!

And to keep the excitement rolling, we FINALLY were able to rip into Molly’s birthday box, after a tiring week of feeling sick and weak!! And WHAT A TREAT!!

“A birthday zoo, cause I’m wild about you!”
In a home that quite resembles a zoo a majority of the time - a more perfect sentiment and gift presentation has never been truer!! Haha! Auntie Kim with a huge WIN yet again!!

I think maybe Molly enjoyed her gift box more than any of my one-year-olds in years past. What a joy this little tiny baby is!

The big kids, well, it might as well have been their birthdays too!

Wishin we could love on Auntie Kim like Amelia was lovin on Molly!

Bub too!!

Happy birthday to you, Molly Girl Zoo Dude!
Thank you, Auntie Kim for the excitement and joy and smiles and disobedient hands(!) you bring to each of my babes’ birthdays. For them to be recipients of such a thoughtful, encouraging, creative and specific gift like this is such a treasure and has turned into a sweet way of pointing my children to the greatest gift in Christ they could ever receive. We love you! Thank you!!

“BUT MAAAAHM! WHAT ABOUT MY MONTHLY PICTURES?!”

And now, back to our regularly scheduled program. (Molly, patience please. The fourth kid must MUst MUST learn this)

Day 2,449

The Babes Who Love Baseball

Spring Training from above!
We don’t like being so far away from Daddy and the action, but we sure do like the view!

This one actually really likes the game.

Snacks too.

And this one likes learning from Dad.

And these two mostly just like to cuddle.

Day 2,445

The Solo Off Day

This is how we felt about Dad’s ONLY off day (yes, one...just one) in 6 straight weeks!

And how’d we celebrate?!
House work and paint (which is code for more house work). Naturally.

But at least we were cozy and home together.
That’s really all that matters. Plus, Dad and I got to watch Star Wars, so we win no matter what. And oh, hi world’s ugliest but most well-loved pink dishrag dog! This picture was taken right before Ella Mae scrubbed the toilet bowl with you! Her and Amelia take this dog just about everywhere - often fighting over it - but when they’re feeling extra generous, they give puppy up and let baby Molly play with it. Oh, the kindness.

Day 2,443

The First Grapefruit League Save 2019

Daddyyyyyyyyy!

The first night game of the spring season was a test for all of us.

I can’t decide if we passed or failed.
I think Molly was less than amused. And the other three terrorized the four rows surrounding us, eating at every possible moment, and disappearing only to reappear five minutes later somewhere I didn’t specify they could go. So, yeah. We have some work to do.

And thankfully, we had some help last night from some of our favorite people. All in all, we mostly smiled, so I think that counts for something. Amelia still hates fireworks though - mark it down.

Bubba and MaeMae though: can’t get enough.

Cheese if your daddy saved the game and punched a guy out!

Reality staring me right in the face.
I can do this. I can do this.
;)

Day 2,440

The Mommy’s Version of Spring Training: Leave 10 Minutes Earlier. Always.

...when you do all that you can (including Mama’s big no no in skipping nap time!!) to make it to Dad’s game to watch him pitch, only to be 10 minutes and a half inning too late. The woes of bullpen life. We had three bummed kids who couldn’t understand why Daddy was on the radio and pitching without us there, but at least we got to see him afterwards. We also were able to go see Uncle Lucas for a chiropractic adjustment, and my goodness, we needed it. Molly especially!  So all was not lost in the end. But it sure felt that way when we initially pulled into the parking lot while he was exiting the game.

Day 2,429

The Eighth Spring

It’s that time again!
Dad threw one inning in yesterday’s game, walking one and getting his fastball up to 97MPH. We’re excited and feeling great about the season ahead. Go Daddy!!

SMILE!

Day 2,425

The Sim Game, the Turtle Rescue, the Home Fun

Molly’s first baseball experience!

Kids’ first trip to the turtle rescue (except Hunter, who went five or six years ago)!

And, though not any firsts at home,

we still lots of fun!
