Day Fourteen Hundred and Sixty-Nine

The Baseball Baby Necessities

With only a few days to spend with my grandparents, I had to show them everything I know about being a Baseball Baby.

First, you need the right clothes. Anything at all will do. Even if it's just a diaper. Us kids can make anything look adorable. Including poop. Yeah, poop. Yesterday, I wore the most adorable teal romper (to compliment my eyes, Mama said), but I couldn't hold it any longer and pooped all over my newest Posh Peanut addition.

And so second, you need a sink. Any sink will work. And maybe some soap. That way, when you poop all over your clothes, your mom can run to the bathroom and wash it off. Then you can put it back on, of course.

Next, you need toys. Actually anything will do. A water bottle. A spoon. A straw. A toothbrush. Especially the banana shaped kind. A necklace. A dirty diaper? Oh, earrings attached to Mom's ears are the best!

You'll need some patience too. Kids love to squirm. Duh.

You definitely need a bow or five. It's the worst when they ask "how old is he?"

You need some on-the-field action.
The Nationals President's Race is the prime example.

And a *few* photo opps too!
Mom does a great job of this. She makes sure to get me in all the best ones! (Hiiiiiii Presidents! What big heads you have! My daddy thinks you're really funny. I like when he laughs.)

You'll most definitely need to bring your snuggles. Baseball Babies LOVE game-time cuddles and lovin.

But most of all, you need someone to watch! The kind of someone who lights up your day and makes fart noises on your cheeks.

The kind of someone who makes baseball his career and not his life.

The kind of someone who loves unconditionally and makes you laugh without abandon.
I call that someone Dada.
And watching him while he works makes every single baseball game worth it.

He's just...the best.

Well, there ya go, guys!
What do you think of my Baseball Baby Necessities?

Smile if you agree!!
Agreed!
Love you, Grandma and Grandpa!

Thanks for raising such a good Daddy for me, Grandpa. He's everything I could ever ask for in a Dad.

Two last things:
One: sometimes, Baseball Babies need some post-game worship on Faith Day. To put in all into perspective. Because simply: this is why I'm a Baseball Baby anyways! To point people to Jesus.

And second: this is what Baseball Babies don't need. To semi-witness a three-vehicle accident right outside the field. Last night, Dad had to call 911 as we waited for our Uber and heard a loud crash. We turned around to see a pair of legs fly into the air. Thankfully, everyone was ok, but definitely, we can do without crashes!

Day Seven Hundred and Nineteen

The Friday Family Faith Night

The last Friday of the Suns' season ended like this. With a concert. A Christian concert. A Christian concert at the baseball field...wow. I can't believe I can even type that! Watching hands raise in worship and praise for our Lord at the park was surreal. And so completely beautiful.
(Check out that #1 Fan finger!!!)

Adam and I listened and sang along as Jason Crabb led worship. Then, we prayed over our team.

Day Five Hundred and Eighty-Seven

The Free Carrie Suite

It's been quite the week of surprises. And I ain't complaining ;)
Two nights ago, Adam texted me this: "Hey, Guttierez has an extra Carrie Underwood concert ticket if you want to go with his girlfriend. It's during the game tomorrow." Liiiiiiike, what?! Uhm, YES PLEASE!!

So, I went! But as it turned out, Guttierez's girlfriend ended up getting really sick yesterday. Not wanting to waste the ticket, she gave it to another fiance on the team (named LeAnn) and we went together instead. It was a crazy fun night. We walked in excited to watch Carrie, and soon realized that not only were our tickets completely free, they were also tickets in the suites, with food and drinks included...for nothing! We couldn't believe it. Wow. What a special gift!

Meet LeAnn. My new friend. And a really really sweet one too! While we did enjoy the concert, we actually probably spent more time talking with each other than watching the show! She's just so precious, sincere, and totally easy to get along with. My heart was filled when I left the arena. Wow. I'm so thankful for this opportunity and the company I got to spend it with. This summer is going to be a fun one with her here!

Day Four Hundred and Forty-Eight

The Small Town Southern Man

Cruzan Ampitheater: Southern Florida's #1 place to be on December 1, 2012. A spontaneous 30 minute drive with a couple of country-loving friends led us to 75 degrees and an Alan Jackson Christmas concert!

We showed up at 4:00 and finally got to see that tall and sweet Southern Man make his appearance at 9:00 PM. Until then, Channing, Andrew, Adam and I hung out, drank some drinks, sang some songs, and caught up on life. We love these two newlyweds and are so thankful for their friendship.

The crowd went wild when Alan came out. He's such a good man, which makes it even easier to like him and his music. From a boy raised in the country to a man living in the spotlight, Alan Jackson found a way to turn his passion into his life's ambition...something that Adam had a moment appreciating last night. He leaned over to me and said, "Kendall, these people here don't get it. They go wild over this incredible musician. But they look past the fact that he's just a normal guy. They could be him too. The only difference is: he just never gave up on his dream." I couldn't help but smile back at Adam. He's precious.

I had an incredible night with my Small Town (Northern) Man.

"And he bowed his head to Jesus
And he stood for Uncle Sam
And he only loved one woman
Was always proud of what he had."

Thanks Channing, Andrew, Adam, and Alan for a perfect night with beautiful friends, comfy boots, and the sweet, sweet voice of a humble country artist who loves the Lord.

Day Forty-Two

The Jupiter Country Hoedown

Boots, Beer, and BBQ. We walked out our front door to the busy sounds of celebration and festivities, and half a block later, we were in the midst of all things country. The smell of pulled pork and chicken barbecue wings instantly grabbed my husband's attention, and sitting with his meal in the middle of the park, we watched live bands play through the night. As children and adults danced together in country-line unison, Adam and I couldn't help the grins on our faces. We're overwhelmed by the community of this town, and feel so incredibly blessed in our marriage.
