The Growing Pains
Day time family study. Trying new things in the Conley Casa!
More new things: Bitsy discovered she was a dog in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ever since, she’s surely acted like one, including absolutely demolishing unsuspecting and totally innocent grassy areas down by the lake. This hole she dug is the size of her! Good job Bitsy! But girl, don’t you bring that nonsense into MY backyard!
Honestly, yesterday was a horrible day for the Conleys. We struggled our way through it in disobedience and defiance. It was lame and all of us were frustrated. So, while Ella Mae and Molly offered to “do this dishes,” Bearett and Amelia were instructed to draw a picture of loving your family so that they’d reflect on what the Lord has given us.
Here’s Bub’s.
Here’s Amelia’s.
Ah! I love these babes SO much. Even when days are hard and we can’t seem to do anything right, I look back and realize with more clarity the urgency of my faithfulness to Christ. Yesterday was a necessary reminder for me to fight my own sin harder and to lead these children with a broader goal. And that goal is seeing them redeemed by the Lord and saved unto eternal life. It’s no small task raising children, but it’s the ultimate worthy work and we desire to do it well and as God has instructed. And so, though days like yesterday are so difficult, they’re also so rewarding as repentance is acknowledged and forgiveness is offered. We grew a lot yesterday. Growing pains, for sure. But it wasn’t for nothing and for that, we’re thankful.
In other news, that’s Adam’s big toe and Adam’s big weight gain. He’s put on a solid 5 pounds of muscle since beginning his offseason workout plan and is feeling better than ever. His diet of “no sweets” has paid dividends already. Good job Adam!

To update: we’re now in the free agency process of being contacted by teams and beginning to have to consider multiple options as we move forward in his career. It’s exciting but it definitely comes with greater consideration than ever before.
