Day Sixteen Hundred and Fifty-Seven

The Hunt

We attempted our neighborhood egg hunt yesterday. I wasn't sure how Amelia would do after the fall and goose egg from the day before. We tried. But by the end, well, see for yourself. At least the start was innocent and cute and everything sweet.

And then: nap time and out-of-the-sun time. She was done. Done done. But at least she found a few eggs. Clearly, however, she wasn't impressed when Channing tried swiping them from her basket.

A huge thank you goes out to our neighbors who put this event together. We absolutely love where we live and are so grateful for such generous and sweet people surrounding us. Thank you Jesus for such a gift!

Yesterday was also filled with this.

Eleven of our neighbors came to rescue our unused hot tub from our back patio. It was a gesture we paid handsomely for as we desperately desired more space by our pool. Amelia made sure everyone got their cookies and beer - such a lovely hostess already!

And then Dada took a torch to the fire ants that bit my poor child ten times on the back of her leg. I don't believe in karma, but you deserved the torch for harming my baby, you jerks. Die.

Day Sixteen Hundred and Fifty-Three

The Morning, Noon, and Night

Yesterday morning, we ate breakfast with a giant "brrrrd, " as Amelia calls them. The thing waltzed right into our garage while I took the trash out. Maybe he heard how great it is being a Conley and wanted in on the action. Can't blame him.

Yesterday afternoon, Daddy came home early and took Amelia swimming for the first time in our new saltwater pool! Well, actually, he mostly just let her float while he played self-on-self basketball. Same thing, right?

And yesterday evening, we met a real-life Whitacre, only in puppy form! Uncle Scott got a new puppy and it's maybe the cutest one of all time. Surely, I'm biased some, but seriously?! A puppy polar bear? It can't get better.

Adam pitches tomorrow (Thursday) at 1:05PM.
Amelia and I have a baby shower at 11, followed by a trip to the ballpark and a game...all during her first nap of the day. So while you're praying for Adam out there, maybe put a little request in for me and Amelia as well. For rest and sanity. PLEASE. It's going to be a rough one tomorrow.

Day One Thousand One Hundred and One

The Labrador Longings

You, my sweet, beautiful, scrumptious little pup, are bad for my health.
Playing with Emma yesterday severely increased our longing for a lab. And a home. And a yard. A big yard with a swing set. And a garden. And a hose. So we can wash our own truck. And a garage. To keep our baby safer! Oh Emma, look what you did! I'm supposed to want what I have, silly cute face!

Day Seven Hundred and Eighty

The Sighting

Florida sasquatch.
(Big Flort)

Washington sasquatch.
(WashinSquatch)

And, my best impression of Northwest fall colors in the Southeast...
Yeah?!

(PS, that is not our dog. We just stole him for a day. Thanks Marshall and Erika!)
___________

My father passed away a year ago today. If you could please keep my family in your prayers, for strength, courage, peace, and hope, we would be so very grateful.

Day Six Hundred and Forty-One

The Tenth Commandment: "Thou Shalt Not Covet"

My girrrrrrl, Amanda. She's from Texas, goes to Oklahoma State University, and wears oversized t-shirts that I disapprove of. My goal this summer: force her to realize that she's a small. And not an XL. She's a precious Southern Belle who I'd spend every minute with if she'd let me (she lets me). Our starting catcher caught himself a gem with Amanda ;)

Oh. My. Heart.
No. Stop.

PLEASE?!
Honey, PLEASE?!
Oh, I just want TWO so baaaaad!!
Meet Fudge...our center fielder's newest family member.
Yes, I'm jealous. SO so jealous.
