Day Eighteen Hundred and Thirty-Eight

The Mystery Bags

Yesterday, the Fish wives put together a charity event to raise money for the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, in support of the victims of the flood there. We packaged autographed balls into brown paper bags and sold each "mystery bag" to fans for $50 each. It was a thrill finding out which ball our donors received and even sweeter being able to give everything raised directly to people in need. Love these girls and their hearts to serve.

And I especially love this girl and her heart for Daddy! That and the smiles she brings with her obsession with the puppy Snapchat filter she now finds every day on Miss Jessica's phone!!

XOXO Conley Fam!
CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH DADDY START TOMORROW'S GAME!!
No more DL for us!
Adam will pitch Sunday's game against the Braves at 1:10 PM EST!!! Yippee!

Day Thirteen Hundred and Forty-Four

The Special Times

FaceTime with Daddy!
She definitely recognized his voice, but was noticeably confused as to where he was!

ChurchTime with Mommy!
She let me listen to (almost) the whole sermon...

...and looked her prettiest while doing it!
(She finally got to wear her Easter dress that GG gave her!)

PlayTime with friends!
She was poked, prodded, hugged, and squeezed and didn't make a peep about it!!
That's my girl! Maybe that means she's already ready for a sibling?!

Day Seven Hundred and Forty-Nine

The Reality of It All

Yesterday was just as crazy a day as any other day this trip.
But yesterday had one thing that the others didn't: Reality Olympia...the first church Adam and I ever attended together.
We spent our Sunday morning praising with old friends...friends who played a tremendous role in challenging and changing our lives for the Gospel. We've forever grateful and thankful for their genuine, overflowing passion for the Lord. And we're especially excited about what God's doing in Adam's hometown.

12 hours passed before we sat down here.
At a little bar outside the terminal, an hour before our 6 hour flight from Seattle to Jacksonville was scheduled. We had a VERY long night/day ahead of us, so we decided to enjoy one little drink together before our lives turned another level of hectic. Inhale. Exhale. We got this. Just not a home yet...

Day Seven Hundred and Ten

The Women of Wednesday

Soooo...Alejandra got a little taste of the sweeter side of Paleo yesterday morning. I taught her how to make pancakes...gluten, wheat, and all sorts of other yucky ingredients free! They're totally healthy and natural, but the best part? Alejandra said she PREFERRED them to normal pancakes! Can I get an "Amen?!"

We had such a good time catching up...when life gets crazy, sometimes, you just need the solace of a best friend to pull you back up onto your feet. I love you Ale. And I'm here for you always. Kisses!

Ale headed back to Tampa, and me? I drove straight to the hair salon. My roots were begging me to! And as you can see, Jordan's were begging her also! Meet my new friend. Her name is Jordan (as previously stated haha) and she's here all the way from Oklahoma. In January, she's marrying her high school sweetheart! His name is Andrew and he was just promoted to Jacksonville a few weeks ago...a left handed starting pitcher just like Adam. Oooooh ahhhhh! Obviously, the Marlins and both us girls are good pickers.

And, for my third girl of the day: Nina!! She was meant to be my friend. Clearly. I left the hair salon and drove straight to her church. I've been meaning to get a picture with her, but every time, it eludes me. So, I gave the camera to one of her friends - thinking we'd finally get a good one of the both of us - and he managed to get this shot. Hahaha. Love it. Total girls. And totally unashamed.

What a wonderful Wednesday (like that alliteration there?! Oh yeah, so smooth)!

I LOVE YOU ADAM!
5 more days of this long distance nonsense for the REST of the year!

Day Five Hundred and Ninety-Two

The Wolfson Children's Hospital Visit

Adam, Southpaw (the mascot), and a few of his teammates paid a visit the Wolfson Children's Hospital yesterday to brighten some miniature spirits. Not having seen a 7-foot upright walking dog before, a few children were a bit skiddish, but some kids recognized Southpaw right away. Each of the precious kiddos were given a signed baseball, Southpaw's baseball card, and then got to do arts and crafts with the guys at the very end. One little boy even drew a picture of a dog to be Southpaw's friend. After seeing that drawing, Adam suggested that the little boy give Southpaw some big floppy ears. The boy replied, "I already did!" and pointed to a drawing on the paper from a previous doodle he'd done 10 minutes before. Hahahahaa :) Adam came home still laughing about it! So sweet :)

Adam was humbled to visit these young children yesterday, and mentioned that seeing a sick child really put things into perspective for him. So many things in life are easy to take for granted - our health especially - and everyday we wake up should be another reason to thank the Lord for His many blessings.
