Day 4,489

The Head Trauma Drama

It looked worse than it was, THANK GOODNESS!

Wasn’t even enough to keep her out of the water! She’s a trooper, alright!

I took the kids back to my Paleo days, when almond butter and Enjoy Life chocolate chips ruled my dessert life. They approved!

Day 4,451

The Lizard Wedding

I walked into the room and she was playing “wedding day”—the lizard as her husband. I need to remind her it was a frog that turned into a prince, not a lizard ;)

Speaking of lizards: an iguana at the pool! C’mere you little guy!

And while we’re on the topics of animals, hi Ginger and your 17 babies! Have yourself some treats and water, girl!

Now, back home for coloring at the bench,

and a game of catch in the front.
Oh, what a day!

Day 4,244

The Storms of Life

Impacted severely by the category 4 Hurricane Ian, the West coast of our beautiful state bore devastating loss. The images online we witnessed were heartbreaking and made us especially grateful for the day we were given on the other side.

While not under a hurricane warning, our little town certainly felt the effects of the massive storm 4 hours away. We cozied up and waited for the worst to pass that evening and night.

Day 4,186

The Millers in Jax

Hey! I know them!
Good afternoon from The Miller's apartment in Jacksonville!
We left early-ish Monday morning in order to spend the off day with our friends, who are currently in AAA in Jacksonville. We were able to swim and fellowship and eat and talk from late afternoon to bedtime and what a sweet, encouraging time it was. We are so thankful to have been able to love on them while they are without their church body and in the middle of a long, busy baseball season.

Hi Baby Kendall!
We love you and your parents SO much!

When it was bedtime, we were prepared to go to a hotel room, but a last second decision by Daddy had us driving the 3 1/2 hour drive home instead.

I can't blame Daddy--he's stayed in so many hotels over the last 11 years that the thought of doing it again when home wasn't too tremendously far away wasn't exactly appealing. So, we drove through the night with our littles cozied up on each other's laps while we had a date night in the front seat!

Day 4,181

The Heater Girl in Heat

We've been talking a lot here about Heater being a mommy one day. So now, much of their stuffed animal play and Youtube interest has been centered on animal birth and animal nursing. And I love it. Someday soon, we're planning on getting a second Chesapeake Bay Retriever, so there's also plans on Heater's wedding dress too.

More pool fun with friends.

And a Marketplace find of all finds: one giant doll house with all the furniture for $40? Yes please!

Yep, Bub, that's how she nurses!

Day 4,190

The Friend Week Continues!

Swimming

Mommying

Reading.

These slowed down yet fast paced days are quickly becoming something of a treasure to me. My pastor’s wife says it often: the days are long but the years are short. And I’m really seeing the incredible value in being home, being present in the church body, and loving these babes in a way I’ve only been able to because of Adam’s conviction and direction out of his baseball career. The Lord’s ways are truly so much higher than ours…and far better as well. I’m more thankful than I’ve ever been.

Day 4,175

The Contented Life

New friends at church, new memories at the beach.

The Lord is kind.

In other news...school's coming...

...so, you guys keep swimming and I'll watch you through the window while I keep on organizing.

Day 4,156

The Rain that Didn't Rain on Our Parade

Rain, rain, DON'T GO AWAY!

Ok, go away now.

Mom and Dad need a date night.

And Taylor needs some more wife-in-training training.

Goodnight (with the lights on)!

Day 4,155

The Wild Baby Bunny Cuddles

Claire found a baby bunny!!!!!

And oh my word, WHAT a day!

And as if the bunny wasn't enough, we got some sunshine and splashes to go with it!
