The Conley Civics Lesson
Some oatmeal.
A little bit of school.
And then a field trip.
Our first civics lesson as a family of 6!
Our first civics lesson as a family of 6!
They learned how to vote, what a vote was, what it looked like, how to fill it out, and just exactly which circles we fill in and a broad overview of why. We also learned that the church sanctuary isn’t the only place we should be quiet!
We didn’t stand in any lines and the kids actually enjoyed the lesson. Bearett then decided to make his own ballot, crossing one name out and circling the other. Pretty good there, Bub!
We left with smiles and the promise of Slurpees as our next stop. But not before everyone got their own sticker!
We are thankful to live in a country where voting for our elected officials is our right and privilege. But we’re even more thankful that regardless of what happens with the government in this country or any other, our God is in control and even has great purpose in all things, good or bad.
