Day 2,409

The(n) There Were SIX!

Say hello to Molly Louise Conley!
Born last night at 8:47PM on our bed.
7 lbs 4 oz
20.5 inches long
5 hours of labor
1 day after her “due date”
AND SHE’S ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.

Tomorrow’s post will detail more about her, her name, and our experience, but this mama is exhausted and Molly is too! Goodnight from our new family of six!

Day 2,404

The Nonstop Week

Field trip to the park!

We’ve been busier than ever this week, trying to tie up loose ends and prepare the house before spring training and season begin. Yesterday, I had my 39 week appointment with my midwife, followed by an unexpected ultrasound two hours later. Our baby is in such a weird position that it was difficult finding her heartbeat, so for peace of mind and more potential preparation, I went to check to see if she was breech. She thankfully is head (super far) down - the breech scare averted. But because of all the running around yesterday, the kids got to have a fun afternoon at the park while playing hookie from school. Reason number 148 why homeschooling is awesome! Rescheduling school is a breeze and we’re not confined to a set schedule if it doesn’t work for us that day, which given our lifestyle, is such an ease of burden.

Finally home and in between chicken flipping, the girls and I decided we needed a picture of just us and our Baby. Can’t wait to meet her! My due date is Saturday, but since both our girls were born four days late, this one’s probably going to take her sweet time too.

Day 2,393

The Coziest Places

Morning snuggles with the babe.

Evening cuddles with the church.
________________

Also, Adam and I have yet to settle on a name for our Little Girl. We’re looking for an old fashioned name that’s unique, begins with a vowel, goes with Conley, and is very feminine. We’re stumped and though we sort of have one front runner, we’re still on the fence. So if you’re reading this and think you have a sweet name that maybe we haven’t heard or considered yet, feel free to send me your lists!!! PLEASE. But beware that Adam dislikes most every name out there, so no pressure or anything. Uhhhhhh.

Day 2,388

The Anticipation

Mama’s 37 week belly and that makes for 5 excited Conleys! Getting closer! Hopefully my Tiny Babe will forgive me for not being as organized this pregnancy and appreciate the beautiful lifestyle photos that our photographer took instead! It’s been my hardest pregnancy yet, but we’ve still found so much joy in all her little kicks and hiccups. Seeing her sibling’s faces light up at her every movement is such a treasure and I can’t wait to see their reaction when meeting her for the very first time. We’re ready, Baby!

Day 2,384

The Home Visit: Round Two

Two years ago - during my last home visit - that tiny cute face was on the inside of my belly. Bearett was in Washington, and Amelia was in charge of all the measurements.

So much has changed.
And praise God for it.
We’re 37 weeks on Saturday and inching closer and closer to meeting our New Sissy. Every day, Ella Mae points to our baby and says “Out! Out Mommy!” She’s ready for the reveal! They’re certainly just as eager to welcome Sister as Daddy and I are...but truth be told, this mama is for some reason, not exactly looking forward to the whole laboring part...at least not as much as I was in pregnancies past. Apparently that’s a natural tendency, but if you remember, pray for me anyways!

I’ll take foot rubs too if you have those to give as well ;) My little Bubba has been serving his tired mama faithfully lately and I sure appreciate it!

Day 2,366

The Home of the Range

Hello, New Stove!
We’ve waited patiently for you (and your friends) and we’re sure grateful to finally see your shining and working face in our home!!

Hooray!

Double hooray.
I really like my oven, but I SUPER LOVE these faces.

Day 2,341

The Hillbilly Way

Adam said he wasn’t getting on the roof to hang lights this year. I scoffed at the notion and decided to take matters into my own hands. Ok, first of all, ADAM, what options did you leave me with? At almost 31 weeks pregnant, surely I wasn’t “allowed” on the roof (I could’ve done it!), and second, did YOU have any better ideas of getting the lights hung? He then proceeded to mock me by filming my HEROIC (hillbilly) attempt at rescuing our home from the likes of The Grinch (better known as Adam himself). It seemed like a reasonable - maybe only slightly desperate - option at the time, but I will have you know that I hooked TWO hooks with this technique before...

...I was the one mocking him!
Mwahaha!
Hey Babe, smile!
And just so you know just how mean he was to me (ok chill, he’s never actually mean to me and I’m completely joking), he baited me with the line, “I’ll seriously buy you anything you want if you can hang these lights on this house using a rake. I’ll even buy you a car.” A reply doesn’t exists as sufficiently as Stephanie Tanner’s saying from Full House, “HOW RUDE!” Two things: one, I don’t even care about cars - I already have a great one, thank you very much. And two, I still win because I’m the one with lights on her house!!!!!!!!!! Wooooooooo!!!!

See Babe! Lights make kids happy at Christmas. Proof! Don’t you care about the kids?! (Or maybe it was just the mouthful of cookies?)

In any case, we all just want to thank you, Grinch...errrrr...Daddy, for sacrificing your safety on behalf of our Christmas wish of having lights hung from our house. You’re the absolute BEST!! Even when you make fun of Mama!

Yaaaaaaay! Party!!!

We continued our celebration by going on a Christmas tree hunt for the perfect fir. They of course, chose a short, fat, bright blue painted Florida Gator tree with orange ribbon to tie perfectly in with Ella Mae’s dashing style.

I pulled the Grinch card this time. No offense to those with a blue and orange Gator tree taking up precious space in their living room, but that just ain’t for me. We opted for a more traditional green tree instead. Wah wah.

All they cared about was the candy canes anyways, turns out.
Rascals.

At least they’re rascals with lights on their house AND a 9 foot Christmas tree! Mama can rest easy tonight. Ahhhhh.

Day 2,338

The 30 Week Walk

We walked. They ran. We laughed. They exclaimed. What a sweet time it was exploring nature alongside our children after such a dear celebration of all we have to be thankful for. I'm so in love with our little family and can't wait to meet the newest Conley in just 10 weeks!

Day 2,321

The Best Daddy

Since Mom’s basically totally out of commission, Dad’s been on SuperDad duty.

He’s been incredible and I’m beyond grateful for his servant heart and patience, but even SuperDads succumb to the necessary catnap once in a while.

With two kids coughing so hard they throw up at night and a wife who’s both pregnant and hardly walking, I’ve asked a lot of him lately.

(Slowly getting better)

But he does it happily and what a blessing he is to this family. And so, though it’s maybe the worst timing possible, we spent some of yesterday’s afternoon preparing Dad for his big hunting trip in Georgia this weekend, in an effort to thank him for all he does. We made him pumpkin bread (don’t worry, Ella Mae only coughed in his bread once), and coffee cake, and even a breakfast casserole.

And then while I rested up and iced my foot, that big smiling man made us all supper. And it was good too. Love him so much. We’re gonna miss you Daddy.

That’s how you know we’re finally home.

Day 2,287

The 22nd Week!

Our first appointment since Week 12 and the kids all got to be there! It was an exciting time, though a confusing one too. Bearett and Ella Mae are brand new to the experience of Mama being pregnant, and Amelia doesn’t remember doing all these same things when I was pregnant with Ella Mae, so trying to explain everything happening was part comical, part exhausting. But what a joy it’s been to walk them through this and for them to be able to hear their baby sister (!!!!!) for the very first time! Hiiiiiii Baby Girl! We are crazy excited to meet you!

As of Thursday, our Baby is the size of a spaghetti squash and the kids always love knowing “what our baby is this week.” They ask every Saturday how big she is and we watch a short video, followed by looking up the “food” size of the babe. So far, they’ve recognized every food, but spaghetti squash wasn’t as fresh in our understanding, so we went to the local farmers market in town and discovered our baby’s size in real life! We love you Sweet Spaghetti Girl! You’re going to make this Conley Clan even better than it already is...and that’s saying a lot!!
