And it's always the books.

They don't eat shoes or wood or the couch or the door frames. They just like to shred books. A most-curious thing.

The Free Fishy River Rock

Mama found a bunch of free rocks.

Mama has a bunch of kids.

Mama's bunch of kids helped her retrieve a bunch of rocks!

And eventually, we'll have ourselves a pretty walking river rock path with all our hard work!

After the giggles settled, we packed up and headed to pick up (and cut) some trees for our cottage sandpit. 

With the pool deconstructed and the remains of tons of sand underneath, we have an idea for a new way to spend our summer days! Time to make it happen! Goodbye pool; hello sandpit!

The Nearly Frozen Dreamy Driveway

Aaaaand, we're frozen. Nearly.

Not accustomed to this blizzard weather, we erected a massive igloo fort,

and enjoyed nap time in our cozy new dwelling.

There's nothing quite like a dreamy fort on a chilly day.

And there's also nothing quite like the official establishment of your new Farm driveway.

We're over the moon excited about that 12 foot opening!!!

The Servius Rehearsal

Ella Mae found a friend pruning plants at the Ministry House and immediately got to work: both on the bush and the friendship. She's the most talkative, the most curious, and the most fun to have a conversation with.

While she worked outside, Mama helped set up a rehearsal supper for our friends getting married!

And as all that was going on, our Cottage exterior--whose most recent inspection was passed--got one step closer to a finished product. 

This is called "lath." It's a metal mesh, screen type thing that helps bond the plaster to the weather barrier and is necessary for home with stucco exterior. Woo!

Then it was time for the Servius wedding rehearsal!

Such a sweet night with friends! 



We can't wait for the wedding tomorrow!

The Next Storm

Another hurricane was looming, so we hunkered down and waited for the storm to pass, with cozy bedrooms coming along beautifully!

The eye of this Category 1 made landfall right on top of us. Thankfully, we only had minimal damage and some light flooding once again.
