Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Four

The 31st Week

Dear Little Lady,

Happy 31 weeks, my Love! In this photo, you're 31 weeks and 6 days old and growing faster than ever! The craziest thing to think about right now is that in the next 8 weeks, you'll double in size! Oh my word! I hope my tummy makes room for you because in the past 7 days, it's felt like you have absolutely no space. You're constantly pushing up against my belly, making it rock hard. I always massage your little body parts whenever that happens - which is a lot - hoping that my touch will make you feel more cozy and relaxed.

This week, we celebrated your very first Christmas, received our shiny new breast pump (for free) in the mail, ate a lot bit of homemade almond roca, and completed 3 sets of 2 chin-ups! We're doing great! Oh and also - you'll probably appreciate this - I produced and witnessed (for the first time ever) some colostrum. Yay! Your food is in the making, Sweetheart! Speaking of food...I've been having quite a few interesting dreams lately about just exactly how I'm supposed to breastfeed you. They've been really funny! Since I've obviously never breastfed before, I have some natural apprehension about it, but I am definitely excited for the two of us to learn together!

Oh, and just so you know, you're just about the length of a rhubarb stalk (16.5 inches), all your major organs are finally developed, and you weigh as much as a coconut (3.3 pounds)! You're doing great, Baby Girl!! We are more and more excited as each day goes by and can't wait to kiss your perfect little face!

We love you, Baby Giraffe!
Whitacre says he does too!

All my love,
Mommy
