Day Six Hundred and Twenty-One

The 23rd Year of My Sweet Adam

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY HONEY!

Although he's now 23 (and hating every second of it), no birthday is complete without a cake. Or in Adam's case, cupcakes. Oh, how Adam LOVES cupcakes! I whipped up a batch of his favorite spice treats and sent them to the field, knowing fully well that even though he's a "man's man" on a team with "manly men," they would tear through them in a second. Just like they did when they were second graders. No shame from this housewife!

Adam had early work at the field yesterday (yes on his stinkin birthday) so we didn't get much time with him. I took him to the field an hour earlier than normal - me, a bit depressed - but this warmed my mood right on up.
Day two and Mommy was screaming for sun! She's not allowed to return to Washington without some tan on her skin! Oh how I do love Florida :)

She's clearly loving it too.

A few hours in the sun makes you two things:
1) Tired
2) Hungry
Tijuana Flats remedied both. This gem of a restaurant satisfied our starvation and woke us right up with its saucy atmosphere (literally) and bright colors. Adam and I will definitely be visiting this place again.

Birthday boy!!!!
Last year, on Day 257, Adam was also at the field, sitting in the stands, charting his life away. I managed to snag a photo of him then, and now it's becoming a birthday tradition. Every birthday, Adam gets to (haha) take a picture with me at the field! Because that's where we're always going to be...and that's just fine with me! You're wonderful, my dear.

Just like me, the Suns too, were excited about celebrating Adam's 23rd birthday. They shot up an incredible fireworks show at the end of the game, just for him (not really, but it's more fun to pretend!)!

Continuing the birthday celebrations at his favorite...PF Changs!

His presents. All gun-related. Ooooooh. Ahhhhhh.

Adam, even though you don't like your birthday - because it's "bad for baseball" - I love it. I love celebrating you. I love celebrating your life. And I love celebrating the man you've become. You're my life's sweetest blessing. And I'll celebrate that every year I get the chance to.
(Plus, I like the excuse for a photo op! Haha)
I love you, Sweetheart.
