The 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat
For almost the entire duration of last week, Adam and I spent most of our time working hard on a dinosaur project. One that would match the "theme" of our Raptor while entertaining hundreds of kids. So, we started with a piece of chicken wire, duck tape, and lots of aluminum foil and ended up with a structure resembling that of a volcano.
Then, we paper mached it. Just some water, flour, and recycled newspaper.
And this is what we ended up with!
(We also paper mached a balloon, cut it in half, and painted it to look like a dinosaur egg. Then filled each "bowl" with candy)
And the volcano was exploding with candy too!
To complete the project, we visited Goodwill and found some perfect potential-caveman costumes. With some scissors and thread, we fashioned these beauties.
All this exciting and fun work for Family Church's yearly Trunk or Treat event, hosted on the very familiar field of Roger Dean Stadium! 35 trunks were driven onto the warning track, parked, and decorated for 1,300 neighborhood children to trick or treat at. With perfect weather and over 30,000 pieces of candy, we had an unbelievably successful night...and hopefully, we'll see some of those kiddos at church next week because of it!
Ok, this is pretty bad, but oh gosh, I died when I saw this little cutie! Ha! What a sweetheart.
The Lego Family was one of our favorites. Adam was especially partial to them...they were his favorite toy as a kid.
I LOVE BABIES! Last night, I definitely got my baby fix. Gosh, kids are just too precious. We had such a good time serving these Little Blessings.
Looks like you guys had a blast! I love you both and we are doing great!
