Day Four Hundred and Seven

The World Offshore Championship

Adam and I are loving Jupiter. October is one of the best months here...the rains calm, the breezes pick up, the rays are comfortable, and the humidity doesn't cause an immediate sticky mess on your back. It's lovely. It's romantic. And it's really fun. Yesterday, Jupiter brought a powerboat race to the shores of Juno Beach. I'd never seen a race like this before, but Adam has, so he caught me up to speed. And those boats, they go real fast. Like 170 MPH fast.

There were an estimated 15,000 spectators at the beach yesterday, all watching $1.5 million boats skimming across the water at Nascar-type speeds. It was incredible. We were located at the Southern-most point of the track, where the boats turned the corner just a few feet beyond the pier.

Helicopters followed the racing boats along the entirety of the course. I don't quite know why, but I'm guessing they were being used for immediate aid if the boats crashed or flipped or sank or something. But maybe they were just referees. I can't say for sure.

The helicopters flew feet over the pier. It was fantastic.

But he's even more fantastic. I had two pretty awesome views yesterday.

Oh wait. I had three. These kids just melted my heart. I felt like a sort of creeper taking their picture, but I couldn't resist. Their purity, freedom, and miles of giggles were so completely refreshing to see, and the way these two loved on each other is my hope someday for our own children. Little blessings. I can't wait to meet ours...someday...
