Day Three Hundred and Thirty-Eight

The Cody Bartlett

Welcome to Dunedin, Florida, home of the Toronto Blue Jays' Spring Training Facility. We've yet to play in this stadium as Hammerheads, and won't for the rest of the season. But while we were in the vicinity (doing something much more fulfilling than sitting at a baseball game) we decided to drive past and take a look anyways. Might as well, right?! We've gotta add to our numbers! And, for today's little fun fact: my grandpa (dad's daddy) was a scout for the Blue Jays back in the day...so I had to see some sort of logo to make the trip just a bit more special!

But our real reason for the quick trip up North...CODY B!! Oh, Cody B. We absolutely love our Cody B. Actually, if it weren't for Cody, I'm not sure Adam and I would have ever met. The first night I laid eyes on Adam, Cody was there. We were all hanging out in his apartment, and that's when Adam approached me. Cody was one of my first friends at WSU and ever since, we've remained close buddies. As teammates, Adam and Cody also became good friends...and well, the rest is history. The two boys ended up as roommates during their last year of college, and naturally, he was one of the groomsmen in our wedding.

With only 4 hours time and a tank of gas separating the three of us, we had to see each other before season ended. So, we swooped into the Blue Jay hotel, grabbed our friend, and whisked him away to Bahama Breeze, a local hot spot on Tampa Bay. Over four hours and a few drinks, we hung out with Cody, thoroughly enjoying the company of a familiar face. It was refreshing to see him again and we're already missing his sweet smile! We love you Cody! Keep up the hard work and get that arm back into shape buddy (he just had rotator cuff and labrum surgery last month!)!
