Day Three Hundred and Forty

The Miami Marlins' Disabled List

The past few days have really got me smiling. First, it was Cody. Then, it was Bob. Today, it was Liam and Mommy Murphy! And would you look at that face?! All these adorable babies around in the past month has really got me thinking...ok, not really. Not really at all. No Conley babies for a while. But I definitely love having cute grins like this one around!

Donnie Murphy is the Miami Marlin's utility player and a sweet family man that Adam and I met during our Spring Training Bible Studies. I got to know his wife, Paige, in that time, and today, I was so happy to hang out with her and her precious 18 month-old. They're here on a rehab assignment, as Donnie pulled his hamstring about a week ago. Secretly (and selfishly), I'm thankful for his brief return to Jupiter. It was so wonderful hanging out and catching up with Paige. She's a strong woman and someone who's had a lot of experience in this ever-changing baseball life we're living in. She's gone through so much, seen so many teams, packed up so many homes, but the best news: she's still loving every second of it. Even better, all of the girls up there are awesome ladies! And that's such a wonderful and encouraging confession to hear. In the short time I've been apart of this lifestyle, I've seen, heard, and experienced a lot of great things, but on the flip side, a few terrible ones too. There are parts of the game that've been hard on us, and Adam has told me many times that talk is cheap in baseball. We've been cautious to protect our beliefs and principles about life...but today, Paige really calmed and dismissed all of my worst fears of the Big Leagues...and it makes me excited for the possibilities of what lie ahead!

Mommy and Daddy Murphy certainly have themselves a future all-star. Whether that's on the field OR in front of the camera, he's made for entertainment! Tonight was Silver Sneaker night, and Liam had all of the older folks in the stands laughing and cheering for him! So cute!

While Donnie was up to bat, Liam was too. Murphy hit a homerun, Liam ran the "pretend" bases.

Donnie's "first" homerun for the Hammerheads! Wahoo! Adam said he crushed the ball. And I believe him. Donnie is playing one last series with Jupiter and then heading to Colorado on Tuesday for the Marlins series against the Rockies! Pray that his leg is healed properly and that the family arrives safely to their destinations! I had a perfect evening tonight and thoroughly enjoyed every second of my time with Paige. What a wonderful woman of the Lord!
