The Messy Bedroom Transformation!
There is nothing sexy, pleasant, or peaceful about waking up to this every morning. Nothing. I seriously wonder how I managed 5 days with this mess devouring our bedroom. Oh yeah, I didn't. At least not very well. When we first moved to Jupiter last September, we had nothing. Literally, a suitcase each. And a completely empty apartment. When deciding on what kind of furniture to furnish our new home with, we both came to the same conclusion: cheap, really cheap, Wal Mart stuff. After all, why would we get anything nice when it's just going to get banged up every other month when/if we needed to move anyways?! Well, our plan failed. Miserably. The Wal Mart dressers came broken in the box and after only 7 months, they were warped and the drawers wouldn't stay on their tracks. So, when we left for Greensboro, the bedroom furniture went to the dumpster. And it really made the two of us ANGRY!! Especially when we moved back in...and didn't have anywhere to put our clothes! Adam and I talked about finding something more sturdy this time, something that might actually last longer than half a year. More like, something that would last us until we had a real home. That comes at a price though. So, my last 3 days have been spent in the truck, driving up and down West Palm, trying desperately to find a solution to our messy bedroom! Finally, finally, finally, finally!!!! I found the perfect bedroom set HALF OFF!! And I've been smiling ever since!
With the dressers in position, it was time to organize! The disaster area was definitely overwhelming, but I saw the light at the end of the tunnel and just kept on going!
And now, a place we can finally relax in. Hooray!!
(We love our new rug too! It's a Homegoods purchase...yeah, probably the coolest store ever. It's like TJ Maxx only for your home!!)
Our pretty new dresser came with a mirror! It's just lovely. Best part: it hides that gigantic, hideous, ugly, nasty mess!
Our bedroom makeover didn't stop in the bedroom...here's our new closet! It's such a relief and load off our shoulders to be able to walk in here and see what we have. Bins and suitcases, I now fully realize, are just not the easiest way to find things!
I am so excited to wake up tomorrow morning to this. Even though Adam won't be with me (he left for another away series tonight), I'll rise early tomorrow with a smile. No more packed bins. No more suitcases. No more messy, unorganized room. Just peace. Just like a bedroom for two should be.
And uhm, it's day THREE HUNDRED! Whaaaaaat?
So crazy. So fun. So thankful. So blessed.
