"The Heartfelt Counsel of a Friend is as Sweet as Perfume and Incense."
Proverbs 27:9
It was girl’s night in. And after a long two months without
these two precious ladies, I was one happy woman. There’s something to be said
about people who just get you. I met
Amber and Channing at Family Church, and have thoroughly enjoyed their
friendships from the beginning. All three of us are newlyweds and share a
special bond that I’ve never experienced before. I’m married. They are too!
Sometimes, that’s so weird for me to think about! I remember when I was little,
looking up to the seniors in high school, thinking about how old and mature
they were…just add a college degree, a husband, and a new life in Florida, and
wow. I’m that girl that I used to
dream about being. Incredible. I’m in awe of how the Lord’s chosen to piece my
24 years together, and so thankful that He led me to such sweet, honest, and
beautiful women. Over grilled kabobs, corn on the cob, and genuine
conversation, I finally felt at home…peace. And that’s something that’s been
escaping me as of late. Our past month hasn’t been the easiest. With all the
moving around, away games, and last minute change of plans, the load was
getting almost too much to bear. I’m so thankful that I at least had one
wonderful and perfect friend in Alejandra to see me through, and now that I’m
back, I have two more to add to the list!
It’s a fact: you can’t have girl’s night without chocolate.
And we weren’t about to break the rules. So, Channing found a brilliant dessert
on Pinterest and we started baking! Peanut Butter Brownies!!! Mmmmm.
Our finished product was to die for! Chocolate and peanut
butter was definitely God’s gift to
women :)
And somehow, I of course found a way to spill oil onto my
shorts. Thankfully, with Channing’s quick thinking, we got it out. Did you know
that CLUB SODA takes out oil stains?! It’s a fact. Proven tonight. Right in
front of my very eyes!!! Hey, Alejandra, your club soda obsession…yeah, it’s
good for something other than just
drinking!!!
Oh, and just for extra laughs (well, it's actually not that funny to either Adam or I)...ever since moving into our apartment on Sunday, we've posted our blog from the McDonald's parking lot, about a mile away, every night. We still don't have internet, and so, midnight drives have become apart of the daily routine. But I must say, it is getting a little old. So tonight, I drove in circles around our apartment complex looking for a signal instead. Turns out, I'm parked right in front of our old apartment, using their internet connection!!! Hahahaha :)
