The Longest, Worst Game EVER!
This is the stunning stadium that the Minnesota Twins call home for spring training. I could not believe my eyes when I saw it. Just beautiful. And tonight, it's where I spent far too many hours watching a baseball game that would not end. It was painful. So so painful. I remember looking at the board, thinking, "how are we still in the third?!" I thought that about the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th too. We walked 11 men tonight and struck out 7. Yikes. It looked as though the severely muggy, soggy weather played some effect. Still. I overheard a man yell, "apparently neither team wants to win tonight! You win! No, you win!" It made me giggle, because that's exactly what it looked like.
The scoreboard was anything but bare. It was a disaster. No scoreboard should ever look like this. To add insult to injury, the game was scheduled for a 6:05 PM start, but got rain delayed. It resumed at 7:35 PM. And didn't end until 11:30 PM. FOUR hours of soggy, lame baseball. But hey, you've gotta have at least one per season...I just hope they don't make it two. Haha :) In any case, I love the game, so it really wasn't that bad, especially because I got to stare at a handsome man the entire time.
Adam's job tonight was to chart the sluggish 9 innings. He did not look like he was having much fun. But afterwards, fans with booklets of Adam's baseball cards had him sign them...which I always think is kinda fun to see!
And I did forget last night...but this is the Mets spring training facility and where Adam played his most recent 3-day road series in Port St. Lucie. He was there last night and traveled from this stadium to the current one he's playing at now. I cannot believe how beautiful all of these fields are! So fun!!
