Day Two Hundred and Seventy-Three

"The Lord is My Helper; I Will Not Fear"

Hey everyone, Adam here, and hey that's me! People who follow baseball know that seasons have their ups and downs. Although our hitters have been having trouble finding holes lately, our pitching staff has been throwing the ball well. This picture illustrates pitcher's batting practice, awarded to the pitchers for every shutout we throw. Unfortunately, because of time constraint and saving the coaches arms, pitcher's BP is typically short and uneventful. Today it was a competition between starters and relievers...starters won!

(Kendall's side-note: Adam smacked a home run during BP this afternoon!! We all know he can throw the ball...but now I know that he can hit it too!)

As a joke, our coaches and manager took every bat out of the position players' lockers and threw them in a pile, covered them in toilet paper, and even added in some pre-workout supplement. Hopefully this act of desperation pays off and we start finding some of those holes I mentioned earlier.

Say hello to Josh Hodges (6'8 guy), me, John (bottom left) and Johnny (bottom right). Johnny was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. He's 8 years old. His parents and best friend, John, were able to make it to the game today, so Josh and I introduced ourselves and welcomed them to the stadium. Johnny was meant to throw out a ceremonial first pitch around a month ago but was unable when he became sick. Our only remedy... prayer, encouragement, and a signed baseball, of course.

This is the one, signed by all of us 2012 Grasshoppers! We love you, Johnny!

Here the boys are with all the girls, and my beautiful wife Kendall! Please pray for Johnny, his health, his family, and his treatment. Baseball is a huge encouragement to him, and right now, his spirits are high. God bless these boys. Walk with Johnny and light his path.
