The First-Timers
DO NOT FEAR!
He still has his golden locks. They've just been groomed. Ever so slightly.
This was our first first of the day. And actually, I handled myself decently. Adam has mentioned on numerous occasions how annoying his hair situation is. He's not used to the knots...or the ticklish sensation he gets when it wisps in the wind. (Haha). And so, he made the official decision to opt for a trim. He's never gotten just a trim before...normally, when his hair gets this long, he cuts it all off. And that was on neither or our agendas...
But in good hands, Adam's mane is looking fresh and sharp! A second first happened 15 minutes after the first first: Adam's hair was blown dry. Hehehehe.
The third first: Kendall attempts to skim board.
The fourth first: She fails.
The fifth first: A skimboard wound.
So, today, Alejandra and I decided to take a few hours and unwind at the ocean. Juno Beach is absolutely stunning, and on days like these, I don't know if there's a better place to be. Apparently, many others share the same feeling. Running up and down the beach, skimboarders chase small waves close to the shore. When they're good, they make it look easy; as if surfing a wave was something anyone could do. Well, I proved today that, in fact, it's much, much harder than it's made out to be (hence the battle wounds). I failed miserably. But at least I tried! Even with bait fish and sharks nearby!
(Sidenote: a 6-year-old just got a chunk of his leg bit off by a bull-shark on Thursday. It was on the same portion of beach I was on today. Pray for him. And for the safety of others.)
The sixth first: A Diamond Dig!
It was ladies night at Roger Dean this evening, and they certainly made it worth one lady's while. Located in the infield, the ground's crew buried a $5,000 ring for one of us to find. Unfortunately, I wasn't that lucky girl. Rats! We were given miniature sand pails, 10 minutes, and the entire infield from 1st base to 3rd base to find the ring. There's me out there in blue...Alejandra in white...and our new precious friend J'aime in orange! So much fun!!
Finally, the seventh first:
