The "See You Soon" Farewell
It's always hard saying goodbye.
Our friends at Family Church have become exactly that to us: family. They've opened up their homes and lives to a couple of nomads; nomads in search of friendship, love, and Jesus. And we're so blessed to have found them. It was October 11 when we attended our first Bible Study at the Muse's home, and since then, we've shared laughter, tears, praises, frustrations, questions, answers, desserts, prayers, and hugs. Lots of hugs. God placed us exactly where we needed to be, and in saying goodbye, it was plain to see the magnitude of God's faithfulness in surrounding us with such a strong support system. These friends are some that we'll keep forever; their hearts are beautiful, and they love the Lord. We've gained so much from them emotionally, Biblically, and spiritually, and pray to maintain our close relationships, even 720 miles away.
Tonight was our last Bible Study until...well...we don't know when. We're sad to have to say goodbye, but, as was written on the cake, it's more like "See You Soon!" Our friends Channing and Andrew surprised us with a dangerously delicious chocolate cake, which almost sent me over the edge. So thoughtful. So kind. So generous. And then to cap it off, Daniella and Justin gave us a card that the entire group had signed. Gosh, I'm really going to miss our friends. What wonderful people.
