The Ear Piercing Scream
Pssst! Wake up Sleepyheads! It’s time to...
...go get Amelia and Ella Mae’s ears pierced!
Ever since spending time with their new neighbor girl friend, our two oldest ladies decided that it was officially time to go get them done. We’ve always said that when they’re ready to do it, they’re able to make the choice, and so, we finally found ourselves in the hot seat!
Only...after this one got hers done (one at a time), her little sister decided that in fact, she wasn’t going to go through with it after all. I think Amelia’s literally ear piercing screams may have swayed her decision; I think I’ve finally connected that saying with actual reality.
Thankfully, the pain was only momentary and not one minute later, Amelia was smiling and SO happy about her pretty butterfly ears. I’m not sure if she was equally excited or more about her cookie dough ice cream prize, but long after her ice cream was finished, her conversations continued about how much she loved her new ears.

Good job, Amelia! You were SO brave. Truly, that second piercing took a whole lot of guts and you pushed through the pain like one tough lady! I’m so happy you’re happy and Daddy and I love your tiny little butterflies—the perfect choice.
Well Kate, we’ll see how long you’ll make it before we’re right back in that seat!
The rest of the day, we spent together as a family—Daddy’s game was canceled due to his teammate’s emergency, so we stayed in and just had ourselves a relaxing evening.
