Day 3,494

The Right Perspective

Giant playground within a two minute walk? Uh, yeah, I’ll take one of those.

Wild sandhill cranes with two babies in tow? Oh yeah, we’re loving it! Though, watch out for the daddy—he’ll peck your eyes out if you get too close to his bride and babes.

The property we’ve been so fascinated with this last month has now been fertilized and seeded with grass as of yesterday!

While Bearett helped rake leaves in effort of paying back his stolen jalapeño...

...Daddy was given the keys to the tractor. I can’t help but playing that Kenny Chesney song over in my head when I got the video of him “tillin’ up the land.”

We have much to be thankful for. And honestly, though I have days where frustration and uncertainty rule heavily, when I’m reminded of all that’s been sweet and honoring and rewarding and praiseworthy over the past few months, it helps reorient my thoughts and reign in my mouth. At least for a little while before I have to do it again! This in-between has been so good for us as a family and in ways innumerable even if it hasn’t gone as we had initially planned.
