The Conley Quarantine: Day 74
Ella Mae’s face drinking apple juice at First Watch is my face singing with my whole congregation next Sunday at church!!! FINALLY!
We’ve been grateful for the wisdom and leadership of our elders, as they labored to shepherd the flock faithfully through the challenges of COVID. For the past three weeks, we’ve been gathering at church, but separated by 50% reduction in capacity resulting in the necessity of two church services, separated by 6 feet, separated by muffled singing and covered faces. Separated by loss of post-service fellowship and the restriction of children’s church. Though however daunting the task has been, our church body has remained unified and focused on preaching Christ and His Word—this while honoring the government’s direction, so that even in the midst of a pandemic, the Truth of the Gospel would penetrate the darkness even still.
What an incredible past few months it’s been. Incredible as an all-encompassing word.
And goodness, are we thankful for it...even as we praise God for leading us back into a much more completed worship with His bride, the church.
