Day 2,485

The Life Immersed in Christ

“All I Have is Christ”
By Sovereign Grace Music

I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way.
The sin that brought me joy in life
Had led me to the grave.

I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still

But as I ran my Hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace

Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life

Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me
O Father, use this ransomed life
In any way You choose
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You

Hallelujah! All I have is Christ.
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life

Easter Sunday and Believer’s baptism came together yesterday and what became of it was the most beautiful testimony I’ve ever experienced.

Morgan shared with her church the redemptive work the Lord has done in her life as she symbolically displayed her oneness with Christ in the waters of baptism. She’s a new creation through her faith in Jesus’ death on the cross and His ascension from the grave. And to have witnessed the transformation He’s made - and continues to make - in her life is undeniable and such an encouragement.

God took this broken, hopeless, lost and hurting woman and rescued her into His family. He gave her purpose. He gave her hope. He gave her life. He gave her Heaven. He gave her Himself through Christ’s death and resurrection. And now, she’s finally free. Free from this world and free from sin. No longer a slave to sin, but one who has victory over it. And I’m just so grateful. Beyond any words I know to speak.

Romans 6:1-11 says:

1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase?
2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?
3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection,
6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
7 for he who has died is freed from sin.
8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.
10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
11 Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.  (Romans 6:1, NASB)

Jesus, thank you.

After church, we continued our celebration of Christ’s resurrection and Morgan’s baptism with some yummy breakfast with Morgie and got super excited for...

An egg hunt!

This is an accurate depiction of said excitement.

They waited for Mommy to hide 40 treat-filled eggs and got to play the super fun game of: find them all using Mrs. Donna’s baskets!

And find them, they did! Oh, what fun! And oh, how tasty!

But then the best surprised happened: Daddy came home!! And even better than that, Daddy came home with a prepared tiny kid sermon to go with the Easter book Grandma gave to us! We got to look at the book we’ve been reading all week - a twelve page book with twelve total words - and learn just exactly what all those words meant through the words God gave us in His Bible. What a treasure yesterday was. From beginning to end, what a sweet day

Jesus, thank you.

Morgan’s baptism was recorded and my intention is to share it on here - I just don’t remember at the moment how to transfer such a large file onto this blog, but I’ll figure it out and hopefully have it posted tomorrow!
