Day 2,368

The Third Birthday Debut

The radiance of her smiling face lights up my days. Oh, Amelia!
Yesterday, my first baby turned three years old. With a backwards shirt and pink pancakes, we celebrated this one-in-Amelian girl with maximum effort.

Truly, time is speeding up.
My little girl is morphing into her own person right before our very eyes and we're delighted beyond belief that we can call her ours. What a sweet lady she's becoming and what a precious gift of life the Lord has entrusted us with. She's the most precocious, articulate, and maternal babe I know and I'm constantly in awe of the girl we're raising. She makes us laugh daily, as the things that come out of her mouth are wildly outrageous for her young age - in a humorous way. Her maturity fools most, as she's often mistaken as a girl years older than she is. And her height only adds to the confusion. She's one of a kind, our girl, and we're crazy about her. We thank the Lord daily for your life, Amelia. He is worthy of our praise and gratitude in giving us such a good gift. Our prayer is that one day, you'll grow to love Christ more than anything or anyone and that your life will reflect the saving grace He's bestowed upon you. I love you dearly, Amelia. You've taught me more about life and love and faith and Christ than I ever knew to expect. Motherhood is my sweetest and most favorite work and I'm so thankful you were the one who first made me a mother three years ago in that tiny birth house in Delray, Florida.

We started the morning off with the birthday girl's request of pink pancakes and purple yogurt.

She's just now getting the hang of blowing out candles, but it turns out, she's not so good at it. Thankfully, brother Bear has been working on blowing up lizards with his blowgun, so he had zero problems helping her blow out her three little candles.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

And now, pink pancakes! Everyone gets some!

She makes everything pretty and fun to look at.

So does he. Especially with that mullet hair!

And her too. She was such a sweetheart to her sissy yesterday!

Crazy sweet.
Crazy beautiful.
I love you so much, Amelia.

As it would happen - due to the fact that we have two Spring Training babies - Adam's first game fell on Sissy’s birthday.

We couldn’t miss it, so we skipped naps, donned our K shirts, and headed to the field. Our first spring training game as a family of 5, and it was a success!

What a treat! To celebrate more, the kids got their choice of ice cream or smoothie.

We played and ate while watching out Daddy. It was a solid beginning to his season, though he’s looking to continue improving his mechanics in order to increase efficiency, velocity, and location. We’re so proud of the work he put in this offseason and excited to see the fruits of his labor. Here goes nothing!!

Happy birthday SissyPoo. Tomorrow I’ll recap this year of hers and add some fun facts about our girl!
