Day 2,183

The 16th 2017 Start

Ella Mae about has it right in regards to Dad's premature ending to his start last night. He went four innings before his spot came up in the lineup and instead of leaving him to continue into the fifth inning,  they pinch hit for him. Baffled, we shrugged our shoulders and continued enjoying our special night at the park.

We had lots of giggles which were the result of much energy, but that's sort of what baseball games do to a person, so we have fun with it!

This may have been the only time they sat still for more than three seconds. Every time we pass the Bobblehead Museum on the way to the bathroom, this is a must-stop.

Daily, Amelia will tell you at random points, "I don't like Billy." You can imagine her horror when the Fish himself walked right through the doors ahead of us. She panicked. He ran. Bearett LOVES Billy! They're besties already.

And so are they. Ah. Love them.

And just for peace of mind, I wanted to share that due to the potential devastation facing Florida as Hurricane Irma develops into a Category 5, the team is allowing all family members aboard the boy's flight on Wednesday. And because facing a Cat 5 with three children all alone is not something we're prepared to do, we are accepting the gracious offer and boarding the flight tomorrow with our babes. We're leaving not knowing what's ahead of us when we return, but the one thing we're unwavering in our confidence on is the sufficiency of Christ's life, death, and resurrection to atone for our sins. Nothing can pluck us out of His hands. The very real truth exists that worse than any natural disaster, war, deportation or whatever else this ugly world throws at us, without the redeeming work of Christ on the cross and your faith in his Lordship, Hell awaits. Nothing is worse than that. But nothing too, is sweeter than the gift of salvation and an eternity in Heaven with God. We're praying for people's safety this weekend. But more than that, we're praying for precious souls.

Love you, friends.
