Day Two Thousand and Twenty-Seven

The Second Day of Ella Mae

Not the worst way to spend the morning before your last Spring Training start of the pre-season! Ella Mae loves her some Daddy, especially when he holds her skin-to-skin!

And Amelia loves her some Dada too! But we already knew that! What we didn't know was how she'd respond to Daddy and Mommy loving on another babe. Well, we're happy and so so proud to announce that she's handling it like the little sweetheart she's always been and hasn't so far shown any signs of feeling neglected. Thank you, my First Baby Girl Love!!

Ella Mae goes sunbathing at least once a day for around 20-30 minutes. She's a real Florida Babe and loves the warmth on her skin. She doesn't mind the bronzed glow that tints her body either ;)

So, Dad is gone for 8 whole days starting today. Bittersweet for sure. We're thrilled he's made the Opening Day roster for the second year in a row, but we sure will miss his handsome face, kind leadership, and tender love in our home. And so, we decided to go see him one last time last night at the field...with a two year old and a two day old! Let me be the first to say: it was absolutely worth the effort. We were kindly accommodated with a ride from the car to the front gate on a golf cart and then given a suite to watch the game from. It was an unexpected kindness that made our experience so much smoother and easier than anticipated. And I'm so grateful. I sat on a boppy on a huge blanket for four innings while Ella Mae snuggled up next to me, under a breastfeeding cover and away from the fans. Thank you Jesus!

Dad threw 4 innings before finishing up another two in the bullpen. He was backed up by some tremendous defense and gave up only one hit while striking out two and walking two without giving up any runs. It was a great way to end Spring Training. We're excited for the regular season to begin and can't wait to see how the Lord uses these next six months to draw us - and so many others - closer to himself.

Also, as it stands today, Adam will likely throw the last game in Seattle - a Wednesday game on April 19 at 12:40pm. More to come on that in the next week or so.
