The Eve of His Birth
A few last minute preparations had us grocery shopping for steaks yesterday. So, we packed the truck and headed to the Fresh Market, where the four of us rushed through the aisles before speeding back home. Mimi made sure her baby was right alongside us the whole way through. She is definitely her mother's child. Empty stroller while carrying baby - can't count how many times this defined my life and defied common sense.
But we made it home in time to put everything away, put ourselves together, and rush back our for our evening service at church. What a beautiful night it was!
Whenever Amelia sees a nativity set, she points to Baby Jesus and it melts my heart. She's been reading about his birth in her baby Bible for a long time now, so seeing her light up when she discovers the manger scene in person is just the sweetest blessing. And seeing our home decorated in His honor and her enjoyment fills me with the warmest joy. Our Christmas Eve was calm and bright. And we are so grateful.
