The Reason
Only once about every seven years do we get to worship the Newborn King corporately on Christmas Day, and what a joy it was to celebrate His coming alongside our church community yesterday. May it never be that we replace the Reason with the "season."
It was an early morning yesterday, but we woke up with smiles as big as this. Because the joy of the news of Christ's birth does that to you. And, well, so do bubbles. And new pjs.
Amelia woke up to an unfamiliar scene, but somehow, knew exactly what was expected of her. She ran right to the tree, hopped onto her new doll bed, then grabbed a couple of presents, making her way back to her baby bed with a shiny guitar in hand. It was a thrill watching the joy spread across her face but one day, I hope more than anything, that the smile she has will not exist simply because of new presents or gifts, but because of the new life she has in Christ.
We love you infinitely, Amelia Lynn, and pray that through all the fun "things" of Christmas, we pointed you to the One true promise of Christmas.
As she now says, "Cheers!"
Merry Christmas, my dear friends.
We love you and thank God for you.
