Day Fifteen Hundred and Fifteen

The Homeowners (and their New Teeth) Go Shopping

I used to hate Home Depot.
Then my Dad got hired there and I liked it more.
Then I bought a house and now, it's like, the greatest store ever.

I think Amelia is in agreement.

The only problem? Selecting what you want.
How am I supposed to know what kind of plants to buy?

Or what kind of rug to select?

Or what kind of paint to choose?
SO many options.
SO many errands.
SO much stuff...I don't even know where to start.

Especially with a teething baby.
That's Tooth #4 right there...with 5, 6, and 7 not far away.
This whole house-putting-together thing is going to take us a while.

But slowly, we are making progress. Even if that just means moving furniture from one room to another! With our bed out of the living room, we were able to slide the previous owner's couch set into the living room. She had two sets and used this one in her sitting room. Since she couldn't take both with her to her new home, she asked us if we wanted this one and we gladly accepted, considering we threw away our old Walmart couch when we moved out of our last Jupiter apartment.

Eventually, we'll purchase our own couches, get a new HUGE rug, and make the room our own, but for now, at least we have somewhere to sit...and do laundry...and store laundry...and...eat...

...because this is the current state of our dining room.
Well, technically, this is an eat-in kitchen thing. But for us, it's our dining room. Because the "formal dining room" is going to be used as our study/library thing...since there's nothing formal about Adam and I and because we don't have enough guests to require a formal dining room anyways. Sad. But true. So yeah, after we came home from our errands, we figured out that my semi-dream farmhouse table will fit in our dining room - proof by the cardboard cut-out and our garage sale chairs that Adam is going to refinish!

Also, if you'll kindly notice that every wall in my house currently looks like an idiot with a paintbrush got ahold of the wrong paint color, I'd greatly appreciate it. This was not my best work, people. And I can't even begin to tell you how mad I was when I figured out what happened. What I thought was a great idea to touch up the scuffs and dings in the walls, turned out to be a ginormous mistake. Darnit. I think I've now located the correct can of leftover paint and am hopeful that it'll possibly do the trick. Otherwise, we'll be stuck with scarecrow-patched walls until...gosh, I don't even want to think about it.
