The Sale and the Swimmer
Our almost-neighborhood hosted its annual neighborhood garage sale yesterday. Grama, you would've loved it. Nothing beats a treasured sale - she taught me that - and you betchta, I took full advantage of my bartering skills and walked away a winner.
We bought this gigantic mirror.
Originally $150, got it for $35.
We bought a one-time used Hoover carpet cleaner for $40. Originally somewhere in the range of $280. The lady was feeling so generous that she proceede to also throw in a spot vacuum cleaner, 3 bottles of soap, and a Moby wrap carrier, almost brand new.
We bought 6 solid wooden dining room chairs for $50 with plenty of excitement about their potential once Adam gets a sander and some fresh paint on them.
And finally, I bought a $2 decanter for Dad's whiskey from an older man who told me his grandmother used to drink her scotch from it.
That's right, we won!
Now, we have a vacuum to shampoo our carpets when we move in, chairs to sit at while we eat, and a mirror to decorate with someday. Yay!
And after a long day of bargain hunting, we were ready for some fun in the sun. Poolside!
(A video from the other night of her learning to wave!)
Her learning to dunk!
And her learning to kick kick kick!
