Day One Thousand and Twenty-Eight

The Fish at Beaver Lake

And…I'm off!

Yesterday, I flew from New Orleans to Bentonville, Arkansas and ended up here, at Beaver Lake, where Tiffany and Zack (our third baseman) call home. Ohhhh boy do I love this place already!! Tiff and I are here for a few days before heading to Oklahoma City to see our men play!

We watched a firework display over the lake, and...

…fished all evening in between.

It's not been since I was maybe seven years old that I held on of these in my hands. It took the entire night of Tiffany and her daddy desperately trying to teach me how to catch fishies...

She caught two fish before I even got a bite...

But I was still all smiles with my girl next to my side.

And finally, after something like 5 hours of reeling in and out, trying different techniques, and waiting and waiting and waiting…I CAUGHT ONE! And then two! Three! And four!!! We had to put a little worm on my spiky thing to get the fish to bite my line, but hey, at least I got one!!

Welcome to Arkansas, Kendall!
This place is putting up a fight on making me think I could call it home one day...
