Day Six Hundred and Thirty-Four

The Bus That Didn't Get Away

Same bus that always steals my hubby.
Different - and better - view of it.
This whole season, I've been saying goodbye to the Jacksonville Suns bus from 19 floors up (in the building on the left). Yesterday, I didn't have to say goodbye at all...just, "see ya soon!"

With the volume up, and the cruise control on, I followed that bus for 8 hours. Thankfully, the last game of our home series was cancelled yesterday. It was supposed to be played at 7:05 PM, but because of Tropical Storm Andrea, the contest was called...and the boys instead loaded the bus at 6 PM (our arrival time changed from 7AM to 2 AM....thumbs up...especially because Adam had the start today).

We drove through all sorts of torrential downpours.
Can't say it was my favorite trip, as I hate driving in rain, but I survived. And slowly but surely, we made our way...

All the way to Birmingham, Alabama. Home of the Birmingham Barons. Hey boys...whatchya watchin?! Can I watch too?!

Last night was also the first day of the 2013 MLB draft...Adam's been talking about it all week, and like a good wife, I tried doing a good wife thing. I shouldn't have tried so hard. Whoops. Spoke too soon! And yes...a whole carton of them. So worth it.

By the time we arrived at the hotel, I was tired, grumpy, and really frustrated with Birmingham's lack of downtown parking. But I did it! All 8 hours by myself! And actually, despite the ending, I quite enjoyed the ride :)
