The Day With Ale
The Night With Adam
All day long spent with this sweet girl: priceless.
Sometimes in life, all you need is the unconditional support of a friend. And yesterday, both of us were able to give each other just that. We learned a lot, laughed a lot, cried some, and worried less. It was a joy to reunite with my Alejandra once again, after far too long apart.
Alejandra and I shared quite a busy day together, driving all over Tampa and back again. I didn't end up leaving her house until 7 PM. The three and a half hour drive put me in Jacksonville around 10:30...and the excitement mounted from there. I stayed up until 2 AM, set my alarm for 4 AM...
And had this cuddle buddy right next to me by 5 AM!!! He's baaaaaaaa-aaaaaaack! And we are both so so happy. Welcome home Mr. Conley! This wife was missin you!
(Adam's game in Pensacola was cancelled last night due to rain. They left the city around 10 PM...and got to Jax at 4 AM! My Hubs was quite tired when I picked him up from the field...he hadn't slept at all the entire trip home. Their bus is much much smaller than the Greensboro one, so he had to double up next to another big guy, making their sleeping situation non-existent. Booooo. But actually, Adam didn't even have the worst of it. One of the starting pitchers "celebrated" his birthday yesterday...with a rain out, a 6 hour bus ride, a start the next day, AND, when he went inside a gas station to purchase a beer for his big day, the clerk wouldn't sell it to him! Apparently, it's not legal to sell beer to a passenger on a bus?! Poor guy. The minor leagues are brutal on these boys!)
