The Long Trip HOME
After a month - exactly - away from my small home in Florida, one more long day stood in between me and my cozy bed. It was a rough one, yesterday. Adam and I struggled to communicate clearly. We were frustrated, exhausted, and extremely uncomfortable. But in the mess of it all, a sunset so beautiful painted the sky, and together, the two of us inhaled a deep breath. Out our window before takeoff in Denver, we were stunned by this especially neat view. It's beauty like yesterday's that stop me, dead in my angst, reminding me that even in the toughest times, my God is with me.
After a disaster in security check, where I lost a brand new bottle of my most very, very favorite lotion (I didn't realize it was in Adam's backpack), we sped off to our gate to find out that in fact, our seats weren't next to each other. Try telling that to a wife who's unraveled completely. I was so sad. It's almost pathetic how sad I was. But he did his best and got us quite a bit closer in proximity on the airplane...just not exactly next to each other. And so, when I was awake, I spent my time staring at the smooth hair flip that rests on the most handsome head I've ever seen.
That's a pilot. That's our pilot. And that's an iPhone next to his ear. Haha. Thank goodness we were on the ground when I snuck this photo!
We finally landed in Ft. Lauderdale at 11:45 PM and crawled into our bed at 2:00 AM. Our bed never felt so comfy!
