Day Three Hundred and Thirty-One

The Late Afternooners

You'll note the laundry all over our bed this morning. And no, we didn't fall asleep to this picture either. I woke up, looked at the clock, and decided that enough was enough. I had to get up. I was already feeling guilty about the time I arose, and so immediately, I started cleaning and folding. He didn't budge. Just stayed there, in the same spot, for an hour.

And by the time Adam finally rolled out of bed, my phone was shaking its figurative head at him. BAD HUSBAND. BAD WIFE. Honestly, who sleeps until 1:30? Or worse, 2:30? These Conleys gravely disappointed me today. And I'm pretty embarrassed for even sharing our problematic morning. I guess afternoon is more accurate. But it was Adam's day off...and he hasn't had one in quite some time now. So I feel slightly better about our slow start. We didn't end up doing much of anything with the rest of our day...just a lot of Olympic watching and book reading. It was relaxing and I think, just what my sweet man needed to get him through the rest of this long season.

Sometimes, I look at my husband and can only laugh. Tonight was one of those times.
