The Rain-Soaked Raptor Preparations
When I took today's pictures, I didn't suspect that our big truck would sneak it's way into each one of them. Maybe he's been feeling left out lately? Poor guy. Today, he got a lot of face time though. While trapped indoors, Raptor was hanging outside in the pouring Florida rain, trying desperately to clean himself of all the bugs he's splattered on our long road trips together. I watched as the water spilled from the sky, amazed at how incredibly hard it falls here. One moment, you're out basking in the sunshine and the next, you're sprinting as fast as you can to any open door. Consider your good hair day a thing of the past. I'll be sure to tell that to our guest when she arrives in 6 hours!!!!
With Raptor peeking through the windows - I can tell he's begging for a garage of his own - I continued my day of preparations indoors. We have two guests arriving at 7:00 AM tomorrow morning, and with an itty bitty apartment, I had to get creative in my feng shui. This is as good as it gets! An entire living room of comfy stuff!! They'll call this their home for 10 days and we hope that they enjoy it, even without a connecting wall of their home.
I cleaned all day. Organized some more. And by the time Adam came home from a cancelled game, it was his turn to follow suit. The clouds let Raptor have it today, but when they finally ceased, he was still dirty. And so, Adam spent some personal time with his buddy and cleaned him all up! The Ford was nice and SHINY for about 2 1/2 minutes before it started raining again (of course)...but at least now, it's clear of all splattered bug guts. Wahoo! We spent the evening at Bill's house (hence the possibility of a hose AND a driveway) and are loving the comfort of the home he's opened up to us. Tomorrow morning comes quickly...sooooo excited to see our special guests!!!
