Day Three Hundred and Seventeen

The Maid of Honor is Honored

Look who I found!! 7:00 AM came fast this morning, especially for our two guests. When they finally arrived, it was 4:00 AM Washington time but their sleepy eyes wouldn’t keep them from the excitement of the moment. Ellie and Hunter are hanging out with Adam and I until August 1st, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them here. Clearly, Hunter’s already feeling at home, as he’s found a natural comfort in the roominess of Uncle’s truck. On a scale of cuteness, Big Boy’s off the charts. I could tell in this moment that our week together is about to be one I won’t ever forget.

At 2:30 PM, Ellie and Hunter finally rolled out of bed. Granted, it was 11:30 AM their time, so I couldn’t hold it against them. This is how precious he looks when he first wakes up. I could get used to this.

After a trip to Wal Mart, it was only fitting that Florida weather would call us to the pool. With his new frog floaty snuggled around his waist, Ellie and baby got an hour’s worth of relaxation time in the salty, bath-temperatured water. For his first time in such a big pool, Little Man did great! He kicked his feet, dunked his head, and floated on his back!

Happiest, most well-manered boy I know. Ellie is such an incredible mommy. I'm so proud of her.

I just love his face. I could take pictures of it all day.

Dinner came around at 10:30 PM tonight. We tried hard to wait for Uncle Adam to return home, but his 12-inning game kept him at the field longer than he would’ve preferred. Hunter stood at the foot of the oven, saying, “Stir, stir!!” So I got him a chair, warned him a million times over of the dangerous stove, and he got to cooking. What a precious helper!! The food tasted great, even though only half of it ended up in our mouths!

We’re more than thrilled to have Ellie and Hunter here. We’ve missed them dearly and cannot wait to spend more time with the two of them. As my Maid of Honor, Ellie’s help with our wedding was more than we ever could’ve asked for, and I hope that by the time she leaves, she’ll understand just how much we truly appreciated every single thing she did for us during the most important time of our lives. We’re blessed to have a woman like her in our home and are looking forward to her admission that she’s not actually going to go home on August 1st ;)
