The River Street
The Historic District of Savannah, Georgia is absolutely stunning. River Street is home to delicate shops, fancy restaurants, artsy decorations, and vintage hotels. The cobblestone street only adds to it's unique appeal. Dotted alongside the river, artists set up their craft and work diligently as tourists pass by. The feel of downtown Savannah is something I've never experienced, and will never forget. It was just so neat.
Especially after discovering this little gem of a shop. Candy. Everywhere. Candy I haven't seen since I was a little girl. Yes today, I was a little kid in a candy store. My smile never faded in that place...not once. Neither did Alejandra's. We had so much fun exploring, tasting, and smelling all sorts of new things. Mmmm. I'm definitely going to miss River Street Sweets.
I was just a tiny bit bitter when I found these though. I mean, seriously? I looked, and looked, and looked, and looked for these for our wedding. Nobody in Washington sold them in bulk. At least none that I found for a reasonable price. And here they were, all along, in Savannah! Ugh! We did end up getting some for the wedding, but it took so much unnecessary work. Brrrrrr.
River on the left, shops on the right. Such a beautiful little place. I've never been to Europe, but I imagine that maybe it looks similar to what I experienced today. Maybe not. I guess I'll figure that out someday.
Adam is never far from my mind. Not ever. At the candy store, I found some gummy alphabet candies and decided to create a puzzle for my sweetie. I thought that after a long night on the bus, a little surprise might lighten his mood. It worked. This is his puzzle before.
This is his puzzle after!
(Note the Hershey's Kisses, the chocolate baseball, the two Gummy Bears, and the numerous baby ones).
Oh, how I love my Adam.
