Day Two Hundred and Sixty-Nine

The Greensboro All-Star

He was truly an all-star tonight. For more reasons than one:

1) Most importantly, Adam is just a good man. Today, an Augusta Greenjacket photographer asked me if I knew the opposing pitcher. I, of course, told him that I was his wife. He smiled. Then, he praised Adam for his kindness and sincerity, and said that Adam was a true gentleman. My heart melted. This man couldn't have talked to my husband for more than three minutes. In that time, he was able to recognize the same person I am blessed to see every day. It was such a nice compliment. And one that I won't ever forget.

2) Adam threw a one-hitter tonight. It was an incredible outing by the impressive Southpaw. In six innings, he walked one, pegged one, and struck out eight. In the sixth inning, Adam gave up his only hit. It didn't even leave the infield. Rats! 7 of the first 9 hitters were retired on punchouts! I can't even begin to explain how exciting it was to watch him on that mound tonight. He's worked so hard for this. And I couldn't be more proud of the pitcher he's becoming...and the mad he already is.

3) ADAM MADE THE SOUTH ATLANTIC LEAGUE ALL-STAR TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's really an all-star, and not just in my books! Congratulations, Adam! You deserve it Sweetheart!

Even the firefly wanted in on the all-star action tonight! Go Adam!
