Day Two Hundred and Ninety-Two

The End of Hotel Living

As of today, we're no longer hotel dwellers. Praise God! However, for a short stint this afternoon, I was a truck-dweller instead. At 1 o'clock, we were kicked out of the Mariott and left to the real world. I took Adam to lunch and then to work. When I dropped him off, it was only 2:15 and it wasn't until 6:35 that the Hammerheads took the field. And so, I did as any logical, exhausted, and sweaty girl would do: I parked in our old apartment garage, laid back my chair, and tried desperately to take a nap. Half paranoid about killing the battery or running out of gas, I turned the truck off mid-nap and tried to rest my eyes. But 90 degrees doesn't let you get away with much. I never got to actually take a nap...you have to sleep for that. But I did at least have a little down time to chill out.

Oh, also, WE SIGNED OUR LEASE TODAY! Wahoo!! (I forgot to take a picture of it though. I went to bed at 4:30 AM last night and 9:00 AM came quite quickly this morning. In my haste, I forgot my camera. Boo)

When I showed up to Adam's game, I found him by the bullpen with a group of 8-year-olds crowding him for autographs! So cute!! He told me tonight, "Kids have the most audacity!! I was asked by multiple boys if I'd give them my glove. My shoes. My hat. A bat. 3 balls. Anything. They have no idea how expensive these things are!" He shook his head in laughter. Gotta love 'em!
It was Jose's turn to show the Hammerheads what he was made of tonight, as he took the field in his High-A debut. Following in suit, he got the W as well! That's what I'm talking about!

LOOK! A ROOM! WITH OUR STUFF! AND IT'S NOT IN A HOTEL!!! HOORAY!
For the first time in, well, a long time, I finally feel a little more at home. And that's a good feeling. Zack and Amber opened their second bedroom to us a week ago when we showed up in Jupiter. They graciously offered to help in any way possible, and what we really needed at the time was a place to put all of our things. This is where our U-Haul was unpacked to. And it's been here ever since. But after last night, our needs changed. Now, we not only need a place to put our things, we also need a place to rest our heads. Without hesitation, the Rickards offered to put up with the Conley-Invasion for 3 nights, and didn't even bat an eye. We are so thankful, so so very thankful, for their generosity, patience, and kindness. The Lord has worked just an amazing amount of things out in these past few months, and we're grateful that through it all, He's blessed us with so many wonderful friendships. Amber and Zack: you rock!!

Oh, I almost forgot: look what Adam brought me from work today! He ordered me some new Under Armor things and surprised me with a box full of goodies! Thank you Honey!!
